Gaming Christmas prezzles and sales - what did you get?

Post by RetroBob » Wed Dec 25, 2013 3:07 pm

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on GBA
Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds on 3Ds
A fancy stylus

I just got an email from find-games saying that two games had dropped below my max price so got GTA V for £27 and New Super Luigi U for £23.99 from Amazon.

Pretty much every game I've bought in the last three weeks was with Crimbo moolah (bar the 2600 but then it was heading for the scrapheap...). Other than my Secret Santa and a few odds and sods from non-immediate relatives I didn't really get much at all but considering how tricky I am to buy for and how wrong they've got it in the past, I'm kind of glad they just went down the monetary route.

And can someone tell GAME that trimming a whopping 99 PENCE off your prices does not a sale make...

Well happy with what I've got and I've had a fab day. Secret Santa was awesome, food was great and the cider is on tap. I'm a winner!

Merry Christmas everyone

I picked up RPG Maker VX ACE today - it's 75% off until sometime tomorrow. £12.50 is somewhat of a bargain down from £50.00! I hate steam but this was too awesome a deal to pass up on...

If anybody else wants it you can get the offer here:

store.steampowered.com/app/220700/?utm_source=broadcast&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=steamwinter

steam seems to be down now but hopefully it'll be fixed before the offer ends @ 5pm ish on the 26th.

It's a great little program, and once you get your head around how the system all clicks together, you can do some amazing stuff. Helps that Ruby's an easy language to get to grips with too. :)

Apart from SS, I didn't get anything gaming related, mostly clothes and booze, which is fine by me.

No games or anything gaming related. Again. But that's ok with me. Did get:

Pierre Balmain knitted long cardigan
Jaspar Conran scarf
Toblerone
Odd Interlude book, Dean Koontz
Dragonlance Chronicles 3-in-1 book (paperback yet hardback-sized)(to replace the copy a friend borrowed years ago and never returned before disappearing elsewhere in the country)
Money
Vouchers
Miniature bottle of Famous Grouse whiskey

Will be hitting the sales on Friday with my wife for more bits and bobs, and a gift has been delayed to arrive by New Year.

Not a huge amount, but happy with what I got. And at my age, cannot expect mountains of pressies.

Just the Zelda Hyrule Historia book, it's very, very nice. 8)

Might by a game or two with my Christmas money but not really desperate to.

Galaxy Tab 3 - though not strictly games related.
Walking Dead compendium 1 & 2 book
some clothes
massive tub of Jelly Belly beans.

As I knew there wasnt much gaming related I did grab a load of psp games from cex beforehand.

I've used RM2003 and XP so it'll be fairly familiar to me. Gonna delve into ruby at some point but will leave it well alone for now. In the meantime there are some neat pre coded scripts like faux SNES mode 7 and XAS ABS to play around with :)

I didn't get a single gaming related item. So in consolation, I am buying X-Com Enemy Unknown from Steam to cheer myself up.
