Aaah, it's a Bank Holiday weekend. That might change things a great deal, like getting train tickets, hotel prices/vacancies, though I'm not sure. I don't think I've been down to Blackpool on a Bank Holiday.

I have

if its sunny it will be packed

on a side note has playexpo (manc) had its 2014 date finalised yet? don't rule me out of this one just yet though although I agree with previous comments about shipping the missus off shopping if/when the inevitable boredom kicks in, mine went to manc on the saturday of play to buy a winter coat and was gone a good few hours- she doesnt even like shopping or crowds
although once she spotted a pinball table had been freed up she enjoyed it a lot

I think I'll be on for this one. Just asked the missus and it was an instant yes from her, so it looks like a goer! This will only be my second event, after attending the weekend at Wolverhampton Race course last year, but we were blown away by what we saw there.

Also, as life long North-Westerners we naturally really love Blackpool! :)
And this bird you'll never change...

Looking forward to this, but I dunno why you still insist on using ticket line, they're total garbage!

Just bought my early bird weekend ticket, plugged in credit card details, click pay and it dumps me back to the main ticket line homepage. Have I bought tickets or haven't I? Who knows?!

If I try again am I going to end up with double the number I want?

Worst ticket agent ever!

At least they aren't try g to scam me for a couple of quid for printing my own ticket this time! The sophisticated electronic ticket checking hardware they promised last time appeared to be a harassed Gordon reading everyone's ticket manually, too!

Surely there must be better ticket companies than this, guys?

(this is in no way a criticism of the actual event, which I am sure will be awesome)

Is there a list of what arcade machines are going to be there?

Ticket line are actually pretty good. If you have problems with the website then just ring them up (I think it is freephone) and they will sort it out.

The scanners were fine. The only problem was their wifi range that meant we could only use them for part of the queue. We will make changes for this year.

A couple of updates...
The Replay Arcade returns to Play Blackpool!

One of the most popular features at our events is always the classic arcade or the ‘Replay Arcade’ as we like to call it! Many of you will no doubt have spent many a happy hour on Space Harrier, Galaxian or perhaps Pacman, trying to beat your personal best or just wallow in some lovely arcade nostalgia.

So we are happy to announce that the Replay Arcade will be featuring at Play Blackpool this coming May. With cabs supplied by arcade specialist RGP (Retro Games Party) we will have an eye popping array of classic and modern cabs, with a number of machines never seen before at events.

We will confirm which machines will be available nearer the time – of course feel free to send over your suggestions to us of what you would like to see. We can’t promise we will be able to bring every cab requested but we’ll do our best to have all your favourites.
Play Blackpool will be hosting one of the Classic Gaming Championships heats, so if you think you are a retro gaming hotshot then come and prove it! More info can be found on the CGC website - www.classicgamingchampionships.com

Should only be attempted if you can guarantee no-one will see you from work

Nobody would see me, but it might look a bit odd being 'ill' seeing as I'd already requested the weekend as holiday though!
