My father had his final breaths last night with his entire family around. I'm very emotional but also very happy he had such a peaceful passing with his whole family gathered (a treasure not many ill people get to experience in their last moments). Thank you all for your messages, they are amazing. This next week will be tough for us all with the funeral arrangement planning in Ireland and the local service here in the UK for his local friends etc. But its amazing to have such a strong community here. Best wishes to you all

I am really sorry to hear this news......the only consolation is that he had a peaceful passing with everyone around him.
I can't imagine how you are feeling but try and keep strong.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

Deeply saddened to read this Liam.. I offer you and your family my sincerest condolances..

I can't offer you any more advice than what the good folk on here has already said, just feel the way you feel, grieve the way you need to grieve, I will just say, accept the support of family and friens as much as possible.. It helps more than people think at the time..

I went through exactly the same with my Dad.. i was there at the end, had to organise the funeral in Dublin, the local service over here and without the support of others would have cracked.. Then my son was born 2 weeks later..

Take it easy and try to reflect on all the good memories.. Cliche that it is time is a great healer..

Take care matey..

Sorry to hear the sad news
The next week will be a blur, so don't worry about expressing your emotions
and feelings to everyone, they will expect this trait.
One of the worse emotional feelings you will experience is one of guilt.
You are not at fault for anything, your brain just reacts this way.
The grief will ebb and flow like a wave from now on.
Just be there for all your family members.
Slowly, oh so slowly, it will begin to get better for you.
Regards, Kilb
