My father - Pray for him

Post by samhain81 » Thu Jul 04, 2013 10:47 am

Don't know if I've mentioned it here before but my father has been ill for 18 months now with non treatable brain tumour, and me and my siblings were advised today at the hospice that these next 48 hours will be his last. 51 yrs old, can you believe it. I'm still in shock, can't believe, and don't know why I'm even on here at this time atm (just habit maybe) Nevertheless, I love this forum and could do with some community love and support over these next few days. Healthy wishes to all your families

Liam

Never a nice thing. Keep it as together as you can and try to remember the good times. :)

Sorry to hear that Liam

I have lit a candle in our Icon corner (basically a prayer corner with Orthodox Christian Icons of all the family members). Will add your dad into our prayers tomorrow. (What's your dads name?).

Must be a very hard time for you and your family. I hope you get to use this couple of days to think about all the good that he has been in your life, it's going to be tough but I'm sure all of the guys and girls on the forum will have you (and him) in their thoughts.

All the best mate.

I went through something similar a couple of years ago when my brother died of a lung disease. He was only 46, you just don't expect to have to deal with that kind of thing until you are old yourself. The thing you quickly learn though is how many friends you have. Just make sure you lean on the people that are close to you as it can be one hell of a mental burden to carry alone.

Condolences here from the Tiggers. A sad thing for anyone to hear and I can only offer you the same support I would assume anyone else here would. If you want a chat or anything just drop me a line. Dont go through it on your own and dont shut yourself down. Peace be with you all at this time.

Really sorry to hear that, must be tough my thoughts are with you and your family. What I would say is don't try and hold your emotions in or hide them if you need to cry then cry, if you need to talk to someone about it then talk
