I had a look at that - I got no audio. Any suggestions?

(NB: I have them all, but they're on VHS and I'm down to one player now).

I sometimes go to film memorabilia events at the NEC, Birmingham & once when i arrived, the cast from Red Dwarf were there! Couldn't believe it, they were all really great guys, just like in the show.
What happened to the film they were supposed to be making?

Finished watching series 8 last night. Gutted its all over. Strange way to end, makes me think they were not aware that 8 would be the last.

Go here for movie info.
http://www.reddwarf.co.uk/index.cfm?fra ... movie.html

Problem with the website though is that most of the info has no date on it.

One interesting piece on there is...

When are we likely to see a ninth series?
Doug Naylor was quoted in a recent interview as saying that the future of the TV show relates to Red Dwarf's cinematic release. A series will not happen until the movie is complete, and should the film prove a success, more are possible.
There is always the possibility of a ninth series, however; or TV specials. The Rimmer/Death cliffhanger could also be resolved in other media - but until the film is complete, no specific plans can be made.

I finished RD 7 about a week ago. It's the first time I've seen it in a long time. It wasn't as bad as I remembered it I has happy to discover. I rated the episodes as I watched them:

7.01 6.5 Tikka to Ride
7.02 7.5 Stoke me a Clipper
7.03 7.0 Ouroboros
7.04 5.5 Duct Soup
7.05 6.5 Blue
7.06 7.0 Beyond a Joke
7.07 6.5 Epideme
7.08 7.0 Nanarchy

Average: 6.69

It's really strange that Chloe said Duct Soup was her favourite episode ever, when I (and most of the fans I would guess) think it's probably the worst episode ever.

I think if I watched the previous series' the average would be more like 8.5 or maybe higher.

SirC, didn't they mention if they knew it was the last in the commentary?

I don't know if I am brave enough to get Series 8. I'm pretty sure it was rubbish and didn't feel like RD at all. I might wait until it's about £7.
