One last thing, thanks to MohicanKid for sorting out my mates entry, when the idiot left his ticket at home. He managed to call home and get all his reference details but we weren't sure if he would have to pay again. It was all sorted out very quickly and the halfwit joined us inside soon after. Cheers MohicanKid

Glad I could help!

Ta,

How much soap was sold over the weekend?
A lot more than deodorant, that's for sure.
The first whiff I got was in the queue on the first day, around 10.45, I mean honestly,
Who has BO at that time? Thankfully that was the only BO I was subjected to.
I was the guy in the queue with the Amstead gX4000!

At one point I swear someone had set off a stink bomb over in the arcade corner it was incredible. I kept moving out the way further in to the pins but it kept creeping up. It was amusing watching people walk in to the fug.

As the top of the page is filling up with more events (including the Blackpool Play Expo), I've removed this from the sticky list...

I went on the Sunday with my mate and his three kids 11, 7, and 5 (odd names I know...arf) and overall I enjoyed it. I do wish there was some sort of system to prevent people hogging the pinball tables though, third year in a row I've never even got a sniff of one, which judging by some of the other comments is probably good for my nose. Arrived too late to register for the Sensi tournament, but I was impressed by the variety of machines available. I now know the Pioneer Laseractive makes the CD-i look like the ultimate gaming machine, and have a hankering to buy a nuon DVD player just to play Tempest 3000 again.
Also kudos to whoever picks the weird game to play on the Japanese Famicom every year, I enjoyed that Sherlock Holmes thing even though I had no idea what I was doing. Food choice was better, and getting undercharged by about a fiver made it better still. The stalls were a bit of an eclectic mix, not many other places you could go from Gundam figures to old issues of Crash to throwing stars to cuddly Sonics to soap. But I'm loving my colour change Manic Miner mug.
There did seem to be someone going round deliberately sabotaging all the Amstrads though. Every time I went past on it had been '10 print 20 goto 10'. I'm assuming it was a Spectrum fan jealous of it's colour. Though that wouldn't explain the Green Screen one running Roland in the Caves. How I love/hate that game...
