Skyfall DVD for my wife. She has the cold, likes Daniel Craig, so this was a no brainer to cheer her up.

Plus, I just bought a set of Campag Eurus so the DVD goes a small way to smoothing things over

and rodimus is a more compelling character then far too perfect optimus ( the marvel comics optimus was quite different usually wracked with self doubt and the guilt of being the one responsible for crashing the ark on earth in the first place )
rodimus on the other hand is painfully aware of the shoes he has to fill and is both unwilling and unsure if he can live up to the job and responsibilities
dark awakening is one of the best episodes
along with the ultimate weapon and webworld

i think but im not sure about the exact number any more that the rebirth introduces between 36 and 56 new characters
including the throttlebots terrorcons the clones doublepunch headmasters targetmasters scorponok and fort max

the jap series are only for the really die hard fans
headmasters is the best ( it skips rebirth and introduces everybody at its own leasure )
masterforce is an in between show its less transformers and more mecha that happens to be transformers bodies its a bit too human orientated
and victory is the worst with an ineffective set of enemies and noxious comedic relief and humor shoved in to it

beats wars and machines remain the very best tf series

war and fall are actually mostly based on the war within  with a lot of G1 winks

if y ou are interested in the marvel comics idw reprinted the lot of them but due to certain rights ( marvel owns circuit breaker ) they cant reprint everything
if you want the marvel US run look for the titan robs they are not as humongous as the idw books but do have the missing issues with miss beller
dont forget the two G2 trades
and when your done with that you can pick up the classics uk books from idw ( 4 of 8 so far ) for the uk tf comic which reprinted the us comic and weaved its own stories in between them
the uk comic is generally superior
and fi you want modern day G1 like comics look in to more then meets the eye an ongoing series by james roberts and alex milne
and its all a transformers fan could ever want
I watched the 3 Rebirth episodes on Sunday and yes it is several dozen new characters they introduce - I didn't mind the Headmasters/Targetmasters idea even though it would've been less confusing had they been introduced over the course of a whole season. Gotta admit, the N64 look of G2 and Beast Wars puts me off (even though the storylines may be very good) - I remember seeing the G2 toys at 10/11 years old and thinking that they weren't 'real' Transformers even then. Have never really been into comics either apart from when I was a kid (which didn't include TF if I remember) - I'd rather spend the time and money on toy collecting TBH!

Won off eBay last night, £10 (inc p&P) for a set of 2 which wasn't bad considering the prices some people want. Going to wait till the little boys a tiny bit older then look like a set of fools running and tumbling around the back garden with this future "retro"(?!) piece of kit. Great fun 8)
