Hoping to make this one. A night out in Newcastle with the usual crew could be legendary! :D

That's round about when I finish my probationary period at work. With any luck I might be able to treat myself to a little reward if all goes well :D

Much closer to home too, I could be there in under 5 hours on the train.

June 30th is my wedding anniversary. Also, Gateshead Stadium is less than an hour away. I'm going, and I'll probably be taking my wife and eldest child along.

Hello all!

It's about time I introduced myself :D

My name is Philip Murphy and I'm the organiser of NERG - North East Retro Gaming. The majority of you probably already know me from other forums anyway :D

The plan for the event is to have around 50 pinball machines, 50 video machines and around 40 retro consoles/computers at the event over the weekend of June 28th & 29th.

I've been announcing one machine per day over the last couple of months, alternating between video and pinball. So far, over 60 machines have been announced but now it's time to start on the consoles and computers. For a first time event, the generosity of the donors has been immense!

The venue itself is in the sports hall of Gateshead Stadium. Because of safety reasons, they can only allow 950 people in per day so if you really want to attend, please don't wait too long before ordering your tickets. Advertising for the event has only been done around the forums for the true enthusiasts but from the beginning of May, advertising will start for the general public around the North East.

For those travelling, I've struck a deal with the Swallow Hotel nearby which are offering B&B rooms for £50. All you have to do is phone them up and quote NERG special offer. If you book your room via the website before April, you get Dinner, B&B for around £55!!

Also, there is an aftershow party at the Hotel on Saturday night with music and free buffet.

Machine announcements are done via facebook and twitter in conjunction with the website updates: -

Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/NorthEastRetroGamingLimited
Website - http://www.notheastretrogaming.com

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask either via this thread, pm, or email via the website.

Philip

Looking good so far and looking forward to playing some of the arcades.

Should hopefully be getting my ticket in the next week as just finalising numbers for attendance.

Will the aftershow party be for anyone or just people staying at the hotel?

Anyone connected with NERG. Organisers, supporters and attendees of the event. But not Joe Public just off the street :)
