Favourite Song!!!

Post by boggyb68 » Fri Dec 07, 2012 12:20 pm

Right, as it says just say which is your favourite song ever.. don't have to give a reason just what it is...

Just sitting at work and listening to some tunes and thought it would be interesting.. no doubt this has been done on here umpteen times.. but hey will give some of the newer members a chance to share their songs! :)

Mine is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8HJRVpUHQI

just an amazing track to me..

I know I have hundreds that I could list but this stands out in my mind..

Cheers

I don't think I've ever given my definitive favourite on here before but it's probably THIS.

At least for today anyway.

This is a fairly tedious thread - seeing as for some cats, one just isnt enough!!!

Here are a few of mine - 10 actually (no specific order)

The Smiths - How Soon Is Now
S'Express - Theme From S'Express
Placebo - Nancy Boy
Kasabian - Fire
The Prodigy - Smack My censored Up (Sub Focus remix)
Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch (Hot Chip remix)
Michael Jackson - Beat It
M83 - Moonchild
DMX - Stop Being Greedy
Enya - Only Time

If you have not heard them - get to youtube. NOW

I've pretty much stuck with Otis Redding for the last 20odd years, so no reason to change today:

I'll try to stick to three...

Just a Shadow is my favourite song from my favourite band, Big Country.

Then Luka - Suzanne Vega and There Is a Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths.

It's a close call, but this just edges as my favourite song (even though I hardly ever listen to any song lyrics - it's all about sound, mood, feeling etc.):

It Bites - Still Too Young to Remember

However, this is my favourite piece of music. And nothing, not even the majestic might of Genius that is Brian Wilson can compete with this truly beautiful work:

Pachelbel - Canon in D (this isn't the best version of this beauty - seek out Discover The Classics on the NAXOS label for that)

Or, if you care to rock-out with it:

MattRach - Canon Rock 100th Anniversary

These are hard not to consider as favourite of all, though:

Joe Satriani - Summer Song
The Beach Boys - Do It Again
Jand and Dean - Surf City
Frank Zappa - Joe's Garage

My brother gave me a memory stick once filled with 70's/80's music from his teenage years and amongst them was Zerra One albums. Never heard of them but this is one of my favorite songs I could be stuck on an island with forever.....

Zerra One - Rescue me:

Radiohead - Karma Police

It's been my favourite song for the past 12 years or so. Was mindblowing hearing it live at my first Radiohead concert, made me quite emotional!
