Just read this elsewhere myself. They kept that quiet!

Hope they keep the current actors and producers for the Clone Wars when they're looking at new movies and shows, its a tight knit team.

More Star Wars is always good. Wonder if they'll get round to the live action series or just churn out movies?

More Star Wars by George Lucas is bad. If this is true they need to reboot the prequels as a matter of urgency, ideally by someone who understands StarWars.

Without going into a nerd rage, Lucas is now more harmful to the Star Wars brand than good. My interest has wained to a small degree due to the endless tinkering, re releases and kid friendly garbage like the Clone Wars film. There's so much to draw from in the expanded universe that maybe Episode 7 can just start afresh

I had to spend ages explaining the Star Wars re-release mess to my Dad the other day after he got confused about ITV showing A New Hope and saying it was from 1997 on the programme info. I had to point out all the extra CG bits that weren't in the original release etc.

To be honest, I think there would be an outrage if the original movies were re-made since even little changes here and there seem to be enough to p1ss fans off. Personally I still can't believe they altered the ghost of Anakin at the end of RotJ - stuff like that is just annoying.

Were the laserdisc versions the last home versions of the original theatrical release? I have a VHS boxset from the mid-nineties but even that has some of the CG edits included.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what Disney do with it now.

Lucas doesn't really have much to do with Star Wars now. He stepped down from his role at Lucasfilm earlier in the year and he's only an advisor for the Clone Wars series.

The Clone Wars film is a few early episodes tagged together. The series has changed hugely in the 5 years its been running, its nowhere near as child oriented as it used to be and we've had some dark stuff worthy of serious discussion. Lots of fan service in it for the big boys too. Yes, every now and then it dips into the kid friendly zone, but we've had no mention of sky guy for years. Ahsoka Tano has rightly become a fan favourite, she's grown into an interesting character that stands up well against the established live action stars.

Great news.

If Disney can do for Star Wars what they did for Marvel comics then we've some excellent films to look forward to.

Far better than endless tinkering with the originals & racist prequels.

I`m all in favour of a rebooted Ep 7 with occasional nods to the previous films.

Bring it on, can't be any worse than Phantom Menace.

You missed the blatantly Chinese Trade Federation guys and the stupid Jamaican sidekick then? ;)

Sad to say, much as I love the original trilogy, and even the prequels sporadically, I honestly couldn't give a crap about new Star Wars material now... The fact that Lucas always said he'd never make episodes 7-9 was a good thing in my book. Who knows what kind of sh!t Disney will come up with... :(

Will this affect the Lucasarts games development, if they are still going?
