Dear all ,

This is a great idea however , i think it would be good to start small and build up just to see how many numbers will show up etc etc
(leamington spa event was ideal ) , as you dont want to hire a hall to hold 500 and 50 people turn up.

Also worth a mention have a good mix of computers and cabs and consoles to try to cater for everyone and maybe some lighthearted stuff like raffles and retro tombolas ,

ta Vinny

Don't worry Vinny, we've both done events before (and attended a fair few!) so have plenty of good ideas on numbers and what to include :D

I'm up for a return visit to the Retro Ball. 2005 was my last venture south for retrogames - it's about time for another.
Thoughts and prayers.

Mate, i'll be there with the Missus in tow guaranteed. Going to Play really revived my event interest so i'm planning on attending as many as I can in the future.

I know someone who could help you out with that.

Just one thing, as Colombo might say. Boyo had been to the Classic Gaming Expo and Retrovision before he helped organised the Retro Ball.

This is the aspect of these events that I absolutely despise, these kind of absurd generalisation statements that make unfair assumptions that everybody else's circumstances allow them to drop things as easily as yours...and if they can't....well they're 'not that bothered about going'.

2 gold stars and a houspoint awarded to everybody who is able to make it to these events, and shame on anybody who would honestly really like to go, but can't for whatever reason....apparently.

It's a event you had the time and more importantly, the availabilty to go to. You hardly had to give up two whole days for travel.

I'm having one in my flat, sometime around April. Only two people are allowed due to space restrictions, and you'll have to bring your own food, but it should be fun-ish.

Some confusion over Retrovision, looks like it is cancelled now. Which is a real shame.

In the back of my mind is putting on a retro event myself in 2014 to mark my 40th birthday.
