It begins...
Tried getting on to the Pirate Bay to download a user-created non-copyrighted file and found that it's been replaced with this message:
---
access to this website has been denied
We have been ordered by the High Court to prevent access to this website as it operates unlawfully. This is a legal obligation that we must comply with. The Court has found that the site and its users infringe copyright material in the UK.
Orange does not monitor customer's activities nor will we disclose personal details or any information about our customers to any third party unless legally compelled to do so.
----
When did this legislation pass??? I thought restricting access to various websites was on the cards but would never actually go through!

Re: It begins...
Its specifically the Bay that has been targetted, its not a general anti piracy ban, there's mention of it here:

Being the internet, its none too difficult to find a suitable proxy to bypass ISP filters.

I'm on Virgin Media, and it's stopped me as well. So, it looks like it's finally begun, then.

Re: It begins...
Some ISPs have been faster at implementing the block than others. BT hasn't bothered yet.
