At the moment it's planned to be on a MAME cab but if you can bring the JAMMA board that'd be great as if people are taking a long time on it we may need to fire up another incarnation! ;)

The purists would have a fit at having to play games on a PS2 - a MAME cab is bad enough!

Everything should be fine and we have contingency machines anyway.

Home from HiScore (Not difficult, just hopped on the bus ;) )

Great fun as ever. Huge thanks again to Mat (Witchfinder) for his awesome organisation with help from his very able . . . and patient I expect, assistant, Anna :)

Very friendly event again this year - good to see everyone.

Got home safely after a 4 hour drive in some awful weather (aquaplaned a few times overtaking lorries!)

A big thanks to Mat for running this, Anna for the Vege-Sausage Rolls which were fantastic (I WANT MORE!) and Mohicankid for the Liquid Lemons :)
Also to all those who took cabs and equipment along.

Looks like I sorta done worse than last year coming 24th of 33 last year and about 28th of 43(?) this year.

When is next years one?

Congratulations to Martin Deem (rogueio) for winning HISCORE 2012, and thanks to all who competed!

The top 5 was:

1. rogueio
2. smraedis
3. bomjac
4. ian8bit
5. witchfinder :D

Full tournament results, photos and videos will be available soon. If you took any photos or videos and want to share them via the website, please send me a message.

Just a quick thanks to Dprinny, Helensification and resident_paul for helping with the setup on Saturday and especially mohicankid for the fundraising work - I know you really wanted to compete in this mate and didn't get the chance to log as many scores as you'd have liked, so it was really appreciated. Next time (if there is one) I won't ask you to do anything so you can focus on the prize! ;)

Took around 3 hours to get home yesterday, due to trains being nuts on Sunday evenings, and there were some kids with a vuvuzela on the last train (bah), but other than that I loved nearly every minute of this weekend, massive thanks to everyone who contributed towards that :D

Pleiads is a game I'd never heard of before, it's getting MAME'd today.

its the official sequal to pheonix, and i fell in love with it the minuite my cab randomly selected it! :)

i got home fairly early yesterday so carried on the tourny myself on my mame cab, and still didn't do very well :(
for those who missed the announcment, over £270 was raised by YOU at HiScore 2012, which is the most i've ever had from an event with a less than 1,000 person capacity, the money has been split 50/50 between sophie lancaster foundation and Special Effect and anna and i are sorting out our respective charity's!

i didn't get to play much which was a shame, but its always worth it!
DID get absaloutly trollied on sat night though with retrogarden, helensification, starshipuk (he gave me a Lemon, so i gave him lemonade! ;) ) rhinoa, twoheadedboy johnbud and collin from J+ and the retro lords! there was a couple of others, but i'll need helen to remind me who.... did i mention i was very drunk? :)

so...what shi..... wonders did the dip bring you? :D

Meant to post yesterday but got in very late (wrestling show straight after hiscore) and been busy today.

Had a brill weekend, managed to play everything although of course I was terrible as usual and I know for certain that I will never play Crystal Castles or Indiana Jones again. Loved Pleiads but only got a few go's as it seemed popular. Know I could have done better on Donkey Kong, Ms Pacman and Frogger but gave up trying to get on them in the end but that didn't stop me enjoying myself.

Great night on Saturday with the guys quoted in mohicankid's post above (also David from J+). Amazing how much some people can put away in one session

Thanks Mat and Anna for all the hard work it took to set this up. Hope you're having a well earned rest now.

Good one mk and Anna on raising so much for charity, the added bonus to a great friendly small event.

Oh and Anna - Any chance of the recipe for those pork and apple sausage rolls  They were gorgeous.
