When?
Allo Allo's Officer Crabtree was one of the most memorable sitcom characters from the 1980s. Only really one joke, but what a joke it was! David Croft passing away is very sad, and a lot of the current crop of sitcoms owe a lot to David's legacy.
Sorry, what I meant to write was:
"Allo Allo's Officer Crobtree was one of the must mimorable satcom characters fram the 1980s. Only rolly one jerk, bat what a jerk it was! Dovid Craft pissing away is very sod, and miny of the current crap of sitcoms owe a lit to David's logacy."

Another "legend" I've never heard of!
It's all personal taste (and I will admit to finding bits of "Are You Being Served?" funny but
just a long line of mediocre drivel.
Same jokes - different setting.

Some of Dads Army was funny, but the rest was like watching a sit com construction kit in operation....
a camp character, a different location, double entendre, buxom slaggy women, dumb character and the general belittling of anyone `not male straight or white`
very over rated.
