Was just having a nonchalant browse of IMDB this morning and noticed these.

When I read The Avengers I thought Robert Downey Jr was going to be cast as John Steed.

I spotted this too, not specifically sci-fi, Red Dawn - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1234719/ Remake of the mid 80's film where the Russians invade America. This time it's North Korea.

that was my initial thought as well and I was :( but he seems to be mr.marvel at the mo...

Despite it's dismal failings, The original Avengers movie had the perfect John Steed in Ralph Fiennes.

I avoided watching it because it it got so heavily criticised. I used to really enjoy watching the TV series when I was a kid and didn't want to spoil my memories.

Apollo 18 - Didn't much like Apollo 13, don't think id like the sequel
The Thing - Why make something new when you can censored all over something old?
The Avengers - Didn't grow up in the 60s, couldn't get into the other film
Rise of the Planet of the Apes - DAMN YOU DIRTY APES!!!
Men in Black 3 - Subtitle "Will Smith needs the money"
Prometheus - Dunno lol
World War Z - Well at least it has zombies in it

Will I like it more if I watch Apollo 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,14,15 and 16?
Of chores I cant find the other sodding films.

Not strictly sci-fi, but Tree of Life is out by Terrence Malick. No zombies (sadly) but a bit of a philosophical look at mankind/life/burgers (one of them I made up).

The book is great, though it does jump to various times and locations so i imagine the film will be more set around one place as its starring Brad Pitt.

Think it's about a space crew that went missing or something.

The Thing 2 sounds awful. The first was about the atmosphere, and also spooky Ennio Moriconne soundtrack. And no offence, but no pretty women just because it's politically correct.

I wonder if Brad Pitt plays the journalist compiling all the different stories which are shown via flashback.
