Now, inbetween wondering where the £35m has gone they tend to laugh at how bad Carroll is doing.

That's the thing ; as a supporter I'd rather have an out-of-sorts striker than money in the club's bank. The club took a massive gamble last year selling their star player and not replacing him - it's time now to see some of that money re-invested in the team.Newcastle's attraction now for top players has not been higher since the days of Keegan; the club should use their league position to attract quality in before the momentum falters.

Only if Chelsea give us £50m in cash again for another broken player!

The difference is that Carroll is a player trying to play in an uncomfortable position, whilst Torres had a team built mainly to support him and still can't pull it off.

Torres has had his day imho whilst Carroll will come on massively by the beginning of next season

Both Manchester teams out of the Champions League.

I think under Mike Ashley that is not going to happen, especially if he is wanting to bring in players on low wages.

Basel were one of the worst teams I've ever seen play.

At least Fergie has avoided playing Barcelona and Real Madrid in the next round!

Apparently Tory MPs are pressing David Cameron to consult Fergie and Mancini on a European exit strategy.

Following Man Utd and Man City's exit from the Champions League, every Premier League match this weekend will observe one minute of laughter!

Basel 2-1 Manchester United.
Tobler-owned.

Jeremy Clarkson: "I'd take all the Manchester footballers outside and shoot them in front of their families, but I can't, as the Gunners are in Europe!"

Basel winger Xderdan Shaquri has put an end to speculation linking him to both Manchester clubs, stating that the opportunity of Champions League football with Basel as a key factor.

The whole of Manchester has been shocked and disappointed, however I can't help but feel it is their own fault.
If they picked up the phone and voted, Misha B would still be in the X-Factor.

Arsenal are hoping to prise Samir Nasri away from Manchester City with the promise of Champions League football.

Another match, another loss and the fourth in a row with no goals scored. This time a 0-1 loss to Crystal Palace keeping us in the relegation zone.

Spurs still got beat no matter how you look at it ;)

Newcastle got a terrible result at Norwich - well injuries i guess what caused people to play out of place and you get beat - thats how football goes sometimes
