surely If he doesnt work for them anymore there is nothing they can do to him anyway? its not a government or legal issue? be the same as you quitting your job after having a diciplinary hearing.

You are correct that due to him resigning they cannot continue to proceed against him but that will be the most likely reason of him quitting as he was still under investigation and according to a Fifa statement:

"As a consequence of Mr Warner's self-determined resignation, all ethics committee procedures against him have been closed and the presumption of innocence is maintained."

So basically it looks like it was a case of 'quit and innocent' or 'stay and possibly be found guilty.'

At the end of the day it's all allegations but on the outside it just seems a bit hmmmmm.

A Fifa report seen by the Press Association says there is "overwhelming evidence" that Mohamed bin Hammam used bribery in his presidential campaign.
The ethics committee also stated that former Fifa vice-president Jack Warner was "an accessory to corruption".
Warner resigned from his role on Monday and quit all football activities.

I am really excited for the new season now that i have rekindled my love for attending live footy.
I think my tally for games last year was 11 (home teams listed)...

Liverpool - 4 games
Huddersfield - 4 games
Charlton - 1 game (would have been 2 but one was alled off 90 mins before kickoff)
Arsenal - 1 game
Leeds - 1 game

For 2011/12 I want to increase to at least 20 games and hopefully up to 7 different clubs (I definitely plan to go to AFC Halifax this year and a few more away games for Huddersfield).
If I make the 20 games then it will prove to menthat a season ticket is worthwhile.

I just hope the merry-go-round of football managers slows down. It's absolutely crazy the changes in management we see in the Premiership mid-season. If a manager is deemed suitable for the job at the beginning of the season , he should still be so 6 months later ; in some cases of late 6 weeks has been too long seemingly. It seems to be that chairman play to the fans in this respect ; it easier to satiate the crowd's lust for blood by sacking the incumbent boss rather than delving deeper into the fundamental reasons why the club is struggling- which is usually down to a lack of investment or development and/or poor management of the club over a period of time. Far easier to sack the manager and bring in a replacement. The thing is , that with the odd exception (eg King Kenny and an open cheque-book) there is very rarely a reversal of fortunes , usually in the short-term and always in the long term.

Premier league kits have always carried a premium that's nothing new.

I love the chequerd effect and glad it's white in contrast to last seasons away top I have.

That's from the OS as well, of course - you can usually get them 10-15 quid cheaper at JJB et al.
