Arcade machine Nirvana
So there you sit looking at yor pc/phone etc reading this!!!!!
Now think quickley if you could own and have in your home right now what Arcade machine would it be? ...
Please dont say a mame cab. Would be much better just to get the game title.. cabinet size doesnt matter so could be coffee table or huge sega daytona usa ..not really bothered about tech specs either be it a jamma board blah blah just the game as more than anything else the game makes all the diffrence.
It may be that you like the game but love the style of the cab and artwork that would suit you and yours perfectley..
To start for me would have to be:-
Asteroids
Just for pure nostalgia...

Re: Arcade machine Nirvana
It would have to be a cab that's hard to emulate in MAME due to the controls
Boils down to Battlezone , Missile Command or Star Wars
Will go for the original sit-in arcade cab Star Wars

Trog! I hadn't heard of this before I went to Arcade Barn for the Hiscore tourney but I fell in love with it. It's a really nice looking cab as well as an ace game. I've seen the NES version since but it's just not the same without the claymation graphics on the arcade version.
Re: Arcade machine Nirvana
Tempest - Fantastic game, hard to find a working example.
Re: Arcade machine Nirvana
Outrun and Paperboy, had a deal set up for that Turbo Outrun cockpit that was on ebay, got the pick up and delivery sorted and someone must have guzumped me, as never then heard back again from the seller
So bought a nice Zaccaria Universal cab instead with the money, not too sure how I am going to smuggle this one past my good wife though! oops

WANTED: ANY SNES or GAMEBOY GAMES, OR EMPTY BOXES, INSTRUCTION MANUALS or WHITE INNER TRAYS, going for FULL SETS of both.
Re: Arcade machine Nirvana
Point Blank. So damn arcadey, and I'm still having fun with it over fifteen years after originally playing it. Apparently the local arcade down the street sold off all their games for cheap when they closed down a few years back...including Point Blank. Gah!!

Re: Arcade machine Nirvana
I could pick quite a few: Robocop, Dragonninja, T2 the Arcade game, TMHT (UK) the arcade game, SFII Championship Edition.
However, one game that stands above all those for me has to be The House Of The Dead simply because the only home conversion, which to all intents and purposes did it's best to be as faithful to the original, just didn't feel right (think software mode graphics together with some questionable loading times at certain points in the game which ruined the flow of the game). (The Sega Saturn version in case anyone is wondering).
Also, the actual cabinet itself it pretty cool in my opinion.
Correct me if I'm wrong but did Sega not say they are unlikely to re-release it any time soon on current Gen systems because the original source code went missing?

Space harrier cabinet would be fricken sweet. That or some classic street fighter action.
