I stayed at the Norbreck and I'd like to say I had NO complaints whatever about the room, it was clean and warm and the bathroom & beds were fine.

I also ate at the fish and chip shop across the road and again that was fine, no complaints. I had fish and chips with Dave, Anna & Mike from the Attic Bug and Oli Frey and Roger Kean ate with us too and none of us had any reason to complain! There was nothing wrong with our chippy lunch!

By the time I got to the chippy they only had cheese burgers left. But my cheeseburger and chips were very nice. I had a chicken burger at the venue the next day and it was okay but a bit dry.

Personally I thought the event was overall better than last year. And I'd like to thank the organisers again for a fantastic job.

The smell that people were complaining about in the food areas was due to the drain actually running under that part of the building. I was there on the Friday night when Dave Moore was complaining to one of the staff about the smell and that was the explanation given to him. The small came and went at certain times of day. There was absolutely nothing they could do about it except for stuffing air fresheners in that area. It is a big old building remember.

As far as the accommodation is concerned I don't pay the silly Norbreck prices. I stayed at a little B&B just 1 minute walk from the event and got three nights with full breakfast for just £75. Some of the pinball lads were staying there too and they enjoyed the place so much that they want to book out the entire B&B for next year. You can't a beat top quality breakfast served personally! There are so many cheap B&Bs just down the Queen's Promenade there should be no real need to pay top whack in the Norbreck.

I didn't go to the after event party. But that was mainly due to me being so knackered that Saturday evening that I just crashed in my hotel room with a few cans of Guinness in front of Match of the Day. In a way from what I've heard I'm glad I missed it... but it is for charity and seems to be the area where most improvement could be made (going by these posts).

On a personal note I got a real kick out of watching people play my mini arcade cabinets and would like to bring them again next year if that's OK. One thing I need to sort out is the socialising during the evening. Like I say I was shattered the Saturday night, but I lost where the JAMMA+ peeps went to on the Sunday and ended up in the Norbreck bar alone. Or were they hiding>

Overall another great weekend and I enjoyed it. Here's to next year.... plus the new event in Sheffield which I'm interested in as I'm only in Leeds. 8)

I didn't say you over reacted. I said that someone telling us to f-off is an over reaction.

Worst Fish and Chips? Are you mental?

What was wrong with the Fish and chips? The Chippy was much improved from last year, no greasiness, no undercooked food, Great and I mean huge portions. The fish and Chips my mate had on saturday had two bits of fish and it the flesh was whiter than white confirming its freshness. Top service and the staff bent over backwards to help.

Which chippy did you go to?

To be fair you could go to the same chippy at different times of the day and have completely different levels of quality. The freshly fried stuff compared to stuff that has been sitting for ages, for example.

I went 13.30 sat ( very busy) and 12.20 Sunday ( quiet, bumped into Woody Cool and Resident Paul) iirc. Me other mate who I went with went much later both days and wasnt disappointed.

Those burgers at the in hatch thing looked like they could be bounced, tbf! The prices werent bad, but It was nice to have some fresh air and a break away
