A reasonable price for Panzer Dragoon Saga?

Post by Spooky » Wed Sep 22, 2010 8:27 am

Hi all,

I've just come back from my local Cash Converters, and to my surprise, they had a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga (in pretty good shape) for €99 (£85).
I know how much this game is sought after and I've heard and read great reviews. So my question is: is it worth it?

I recently paid £115 for a complete trilogy set off Ebay (Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Panzer Dragoon Saga), but I reckon I could've saved money if I'd have been more patient. Panzer Dragoon Saga usually sells for around £80 on Ebay, depending on what condition it's in, if the outer cardboard sleeve is included, etc.

If it's all in very good condition and the discs aren't scratched to hell then I'd be tempted to get it at £85.

Maybe the somewhat low prices of retrogaming in the UK have "affected" you :P but in Spain it goes for as far as 200€ (£170) and more. At 99€ it's a steal for me.

Price sounds about right, I paid about £85 for my copy of PDS a couple of years back.

I asked myself the same question... The guy who sold it probably didn't know what it was worth or he wouldn't have sold it in Cash Converters.

Sods law that though isn't it. When i worked in Electronics Boutique we had so many games that are considered rare now in the second hand section. There was Symphony of the night, Suikoden 1 + 2 in fact pretty much all of the rare PS1 RPGS, all the rare DC games as everything got discontinued plus the shop was shutting. There was loads of Saturn stuff too and a ruck of Megadrive and Neo Geo Pocket stuff sat in the back store room that nobody knew what to do with.

If only i had a time machine :D

£85 is pretty cheap for PD Saga, especially if it has the outer card box.
Gamestation in Nottingham had a copy in 2 or 3 years ago for £100 without the outer card box.

It's not a rare game though, just very sought after.

For actually rare Saturn titles you're looking at £200 and up, around £1000 if you want the NetLink edition of Daytona USA.

PD Saga had a good production run, a few Saturn titles had runs of under 100 copies worldwide.
