Greatest Sci Fi Film?

I'm torn between Blade Runner and Watchmen.

Anyone got any others worth offering?

Hmm... Lots of these mentioned aren't science fiction at all, but fantasy (or horror). Doesn't science fiction mean that there has to be a scientific root to the plot? Surely the likes of Flash Gordon, Star Wars, The Matrix and An American Werewolf In London wouldn't count?

2001: A Space oddessy, is my favourite.
Planet of the Apes. The 1968 Charlton Heston version is brilliant.
War of the worlds. The Tom Cruise version.
Star Wars. The whole series obviously.
The Black Hole. I see I'm the second one to list it :)
Moon Zero Two.
The Thing.
Silent Running.

@THB
Well... no, not at all. All of the ones you mentioned (apart from Werewolf) are considered not only science fiction - they are pretty much considered classics of the genre by now. I don't think I get your meaning though... what would you consider a science fiction film?

Well maybe Ghostbusters is stretching definitions a bit far... - I always think of science-fiction being a genre that speculates/fantasises about advancements (or maybe regressions) of societies based through their technological progression, and some birds with nice jugs.

Yeah, that one - things that could happen. Star Wars is pure fantasy (a long time ago, far far away), the Matrix I'll accept... Flash Gordon's more adventure than science fiction. Understand what I'm saying?
