Weekend Gamer - R.I.P.

Post by SirClive » Wed Apr 21, 2010 3:50 pm

I have just had a mail to say that my webspace is going to run out this week ans as the Weekend Gamer site hasn't been updated in quite some time I am reluctanly taking it offline.

If you want to download the shows then you will need to get them in the next day or two from http://weekend-gamer.co.uk/wg

You can also watch them online here... http://www.retroreunited.info/forum/vie ... ?f=10&t=57 but as the Retro Reunited site is on the same webspace that will also be put to rest.

Opa-Opa may one day resurrect WG (I hope so) but for the time being, so long old friend - it was fun while it lasted.

Yes it was fun and it was a real shame to see it go.

Aye, sad to see it go. For anyone who's not ever seen or even heard of Weekend Gamer, it's well worth checking out. Hope that Opa does another show at some point, even if it's just a one-off special of sorts. He did mention doing another audio show not so long back and I'd be happy to help out with that as he asked me to join in with one a while ago, I just never got around to it unfortunately :(

So long Weekend Gamer, it was nice knowing you.

I'd be up for doing another audio show to be honest, they were more fun to do as it was just a couple of lads having a beer and a chat.

The audio shows are here for download... http://weekend-gamer.co.uk/wg/index.php ... &Itemid=27

Or here for streaming... http://www.retroreunited.info/forum/vie ... p?f=9&t=91

Again, both will disappear in a few days.

Shame we never got a final episode to close the series on. Sad to see it peter out like this.

Maybe one day we'll see a r3play of events on WGTV ;)

It might not be dead, that is down to whether Opa has the time or inclination to carry on what he started.

I think you tossed it in the bin too soon. A little longer burst of enthusiasm, a little more self promotion, perhaps it could have gone somewhere.

That said, I genuinely really enjoyed, so thanks.

You know something, much to my great shame I've never listened or watched an episode of this. Isn't that disgusting?

I've never really been one for youtube vids & podcasts, but I've always meant to check these out. Thanks for putting this thread up - I'm downloading every ep now while I can!

I guess you don't know what you've got till it's gone! :(

Audio Show 10 doesn't seem to want to work for me. :( (It says ID doesn't exist) (I've now got the first 9 on my MP3 player ready to go!)
