i had a look in the gamestation in stevenage the other day, theyve got loads of retro games on cartridge, didnt see any NESs specifically, but you may find some NES games or a control pad or two,

it might be worth asking if they have a NES or can get one for you because they do seem to have have lots of retro stuff.

ive found the people there most useful having bought my 360 and original xbox there

also have you tried that video game exchange shop in hitchin

Mine doesn't have a NES, cos I have been looking for one for a while. Think I need to stop hoping for a boot fair bargain and pay the going rate on ebay now though :(

Also anyone got any Ideas on what substances can be used to remove paint from the controller without removing the design as some idiot managed to paint a nes controller gold, well I spose I cant complain much for a £1 but sstill I want it to look reasonable when I get The Nes itself.

When buying something that old , I prefer to get on ebay as you can usually get a few games with the system

I mean there one guy on ebay at the minute with a NES and 11 games
for (currently) 99p+£20 p+p

As with C64,Speccy etc it's not the machine that's hard to get,it's the software.I mean,my local carboot usually has a couple of Amigas,with a handful of games - but just try finding a decent fairly common game like SWOS-no chance!

The classics like SWOW, Sensi, Mario Kart, etc are almost impossible to find. I'm still pissed off I didn't pick up Mario Kart 64 when my local Gamestation had it in. Bet they probably got it in with an N64 and seperated it. They still have Pefect Dark but haven' heard great things.

If I'd known I could have given you that - I traded one a month ago that had been sitting about for almost a year. Only cost me a quid and I got a tenner for it against Tokobot.
