Re: The Star Wars thread
Except we know that Mandalorians didn't always keep their helmets on, this is well covered in The Clone Wars, which is canon. This not removing the helmet in front of others is a new thing. It does get explained, but it doesn't really make it any better. It feels very much like an arse covering exercise should the lead actor decide to leave or make demands for higher salary, they can easily recast the part.

Well spoiler alert but he does in one episode
The whole series was better than I thought. Few episodes I thought were so so but overall just far better than I thought. Can’t wait for season 2

Re: The Star Wars thread
Hopefully the Mandalorian will be shown on other channels or available on DVD/Download at some point as i really cant justify paying for another TV channel at the moment, especially just for one series that im interested in.
ATARI....There can be only one !!!!!!!
Re: The Star Wars thread
Sign up for a month then binge watch it (once all 8 episodes have aired)
It’s a great series. Also roll on tomorrow and the digital version of rise of sky walker

Re: The Star Wars thread
I can't see that happening any time soon. Disney have been slowly pulling content and licenses from other channels for the last couple of years so there's an incentive to buy into Disney+. At less than £1 per week, it was a no brainer for me to sub, though the late launch in the UK meant I'd already pirated The Mandalorian since there was no legit alternative. Caught up on the new season of The Clone Wars though.

Re: The Star Wars thread
You wanna stop watching wrestling or that dodgy anime stuff and watch the Mandolorian. It’s excellent and a return to form
Re: The Star Wars thread
Ill stop watching wrestling when something better comes along
(Also this can be subjective as a lot of it can be pish)

Re: The Star Wars thread
I'm pretty sure it'll get a DVD release eventually, its just right now its one of the crown jewels in the Disney+ new original programming line up and I'm sure once that library fills up, then they'll put it out on DVD....

Re: The Star Wars thread
Watched Rise of the Skywalker digital edition last night. Did enjoy it, alright i admit - i did find the ending very sad as thats the last you'll see of the original characters for sure. Again its not the best film but a lot of very good sequences. Always like seeing new aliens etc. Huge battle at the end.
Nice to have it in the collection. Looking forward to watching one of the documentaries this week

Re: The Star Wars thread
I too quite enjoyed The Rise Of Skywalker and it was nice to see the 3D hologram chess game make another cameo appearance!
A bit sad that all the original trio of Luke, Han and Leia did not make it to the end of the Trilogy but at least Chewbacca was still there when the credits rolled!
As far as I know, this was the first film in which we see a Wookie cry. We see lots of them die (Revenge Of The Sith) and make a bid for freedom (Solo) but we rarely witnessed them become too emotional. (Throughout the franchise Chewbacca did laugh several times and become angry even more so, but until The Rise Of Skywalker did not turn on the waterworks!)

I know it’s no longer canon but in the original comics and novels the Original Mandalorians never removed their masks. When they split Death Watch followed the old ways like Din Jarin (Not removing the masks) and Sabine’s people who did remove their masks. Boba and Darth Revan and the Revan Christ’s never removes their masks either.
I always thought they removed the masks to humanise them. Clone Wars when Rex and the others when Palpatine did Order 66 they kept their masks on. When he was good he would regularly remove his mask
Seeing the insane amount of money Boba Fett and Din Jarin/Mando figures sell for online, I thought it was masked character always sell. Disney learnt that lesson unmasking Kylo Ren.
