Retromission 2014 is cancelled due to another show being announced on the exact same weekend.

Hopefully we will announce some new dates in due course. Keep an eye on the Facebook page.

Video Game Market
Leeds Town Hall - Saturday 15th March 2014

Open 10am - 4pm
1,000s Of Video Games
Collectibles, Merch & more
Everything From Spectrum, SNES, Dreamcast To PlayStation 4

Fed up of missing the bargains at the car boot sales? Annoyed at the frequent bidding wars on online auction sites? Prefer to inspect your item before buying? You're in luck!

On Saturday 15th March 2014 RetroCollect is hosting the very first UK Video Game Market in the centre of Leeds. This event will host up to 40 different traders/sellers each with their own stock of video games - old and new - allowing you to shop to your heart's content, in person, without the early morning starts or the constant refreshing to check your bids.

Expect to see countless retro & modern games, rare titles, Japanese & US import releases, video game merchandise, toys, comics & books, strategy guides, modified consoles and much much more!

And last but not least, be sure to bring along your spare games and unwanted titles. Trading is very much encouraged, and who knows, you may find that your gaming holy grail is within reach through part-exchanging and some old-fashioned car boot sale style haggling!

Whoops - didn't see this 'Events' thread and have posted a new one for the South Coast SLam. Oh well .....here's the info here too

Hi guys

As some of you may already know the South Coast Slam IS returning in 2014 Bigger, better, brighter, and louder than ever ! 8)

2012 was awesome and I know many of you guys came along, contributed machines and generally helped make it such a success.

Venue is the same as before

Charmandean Centre
Forest Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN14 9HS

Dates
Saturday April 19th 10am - 6pm
Sunday April 20th 11am - 6pm

Adult Day Ticket £12
Adult Weekend Ticket £20
Children Under 14 accompanied by adult go free.

We are aiming for 150+ pinball machines and vids. The list of games already pledged is looking stunning :o - check out here http://www.southcoastslam.co.uk/Machines.html

Tournaments will again feature, and the legendary Slam Charity Raffle returns .....First Prizes this year include a re-decaled, shopped 1993 Williams Indiana Jones pinball machine, and a 1985 Atari Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom vid !!!

As always the success of the event relies heavily on the generous contribution of machines from the pinball and video game communities. If anyone can bring pinball machine and/or vids along then please let myself or organiser Will Barber know. Without everyone pulling together Shows like this just can't happen. If you would like to get involved then do let us know.

Anyone bringing a machine along does of course get FREE weekend entry to the SCS.

Hope to see lots of you there.

Wow, been ages since I was last about to update the calendar?

Don't suppose any of the mods fancy taking over responsibility for keeping it updated, no? (As I don't check the forum out very often now I'm sorry to say :( ).

Anyway, have cleaned up the opening post and added entries for:
  • RCM Easter Retro Gaming Event
  • South Coast Slam
  • Play Blackpool
  • NERG
  • Revival
  • Play Expo 2014
Are there any other retro events that I'm missing?

A little bit tangential, this one, but there's an upcoming Sonic The Comic Con in York on 26th October. The event will feature guests such as Nigel Kitching, Nigel Dobbyn and Jon Haward, who drew comics based on Sonic as well as other classic Sega series such as Shinobi and Eternal Champions.

The Kickstarter has massively surpassed its target, so it's safe to say the event is going ahead - if you feel like attending, get a ticket quick as there's not long left.

UPDATE on Game Expo Scotland
From There Facebook page

"Dear all
We are extremely disappointed to announce that Game Expo Scotland 2014 is cancelled. We have been doing everything in our power to make the event happen, however the ticket price would not represent the value of the expo we could provide.
In short, the companies we have been speaking with for months have not committed and the content of the expo would be very limited to justify an expo we have been marketing.
We apologise for the very late notice, however we do appreciate all the support from our facebook and twitter followers. This is the last thing we wanted to do.
All tickets will be refunded for those who have purchased so far."

Strange that they didn't just ask for help, a large amount of the stuff at Revival was just brought along by people for nothing. For example the huge area near the doors was nearly 100% made up by kit from myself and a friend of mine, we asked for nothing in return.
