Retro Gaming Night is on again and this time it has an added dimension ...

As well as the usual retro gaming fun we'll also be hosting a retro gaming swap meet! So if you have some classic retro games or even hardware that you want to swap or sell for something else, then bring it along!

7pm till Midnight

Spaces for this exciting gaming night are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place, although if you're lucky you *may* get in on the night. (tickets on the door will be £2 extra)
Due to the fact that this is BYOB and the adult nature of some games this is an over 18s event.

£10 on the door, £8 in advance. (Bring your own booze)

NINTENDO GAMING NIGHT - THE CENTRE FOR COMPUTING HISTORY CAMBRIDGE.

Join the folks from Nintendo Life for an evening of Nintendo-related fun and frolics. There’ll be a chance to play all of Nintendo’s classic consoles such as NES, Game Boy, SNES, N64, and even the mighty Virtual Boy!

We’ll be hosting a Super Mario Kart (SNES) tournament with some fantastic prizes, while the event will also be graced by Super Mario Kart World Record Champion Sami Cetin who will show off his skills and give would-be racers some tips.

Another exciting part of this event is the UK premiere of road trip documentary: Nintendo Quest. This film chronicles one man’s quest to collect every official North American NES game ever released over 30 days without using online outlets. Along the way filmmaker Rob McCallum examines the enduring legacy of the NES and Nintendo.

You’ll also have the chance to meet indie developers such as Utopian World of Sandwiches, and try out as-yet unreleased titles such as Chompy Chomp Chomp, a Wii U game that supports up to nine players at once!

StreetPass will naturally be a big part of this event, and we’ve got plenty of dedicated groups attending for this very reason - if you’ve got puzzle pieces left to collect, bring your 3DS along. This will be a night to remember for Nintendo fans, book today so that you don’t miss out on all the fun!

Bitmap Brothers Vs Sensible Software - Saturday 15th August 2015

Description :

This is a very special one off event. Jon Hare, founder of Sensible Software, and Mike Montgomery, founder of Bitmap Brothers, will be talking about their careers and the games they created. Bitmap Brothers and Sensible Software were two of biggest video game companies in the UK during the 80s and 90s and were responsible for titles such as Sensible Soccer, Speedball 2, Gods and Cannon Fodder.

The talk is being hosted by Mike James aka UK Mike from Retrogaming Roundup. You’ll get the chance to vote for your favourite Sensible Software and Bitmap Brothers games, ask questions and play the games on the original consoles and computers they were released on back in the day.

Feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles, we’ll be open late for those that want to stick around after the talk to play some video games.

A Retro Gaming Night For Alli - Saturday 14th November 2015

A Retro Gaming Night for Alli is a one off charity event to help raise funds for Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield. Our good friend Mike Penman from Crazy Horse Gaming recently lost his wife Alli to cancer and we wanted to help him give something back to the dedicated staff there that helped her towards the end.

She was a loving and supportive wife to Mike and it would be great to see you all at this event and to help raise as much money as possible in Alli's name.

The event itself will be an awesome evening of Retro Gaming featuring all the classic gaming systems from Atari to Sony Playstation and everything between. There will be a raffle, competitions and a burger van will be available on site if you get hungry!

Live Music From MJ Hibbett (Hey Hey 16K)

The legendary MJ Hibbett will also be in attendance to perform his new two man musical 'Hey Hey 16K' to help us kick things off.

All profits from this event will go to Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield.

Let's Go Dizzy - 24 October 2015





Description :

A full day retro gaming event at the The Centre for Computing History in Cambridge on the 24th October 2015 - 11am to 11pm with obligatory curry* in there somewhere as well.

Retro Gaming Celeb talks to be announced - but rest assured there will be some great names.

There will be arcade machines, retro systems, LAN gaming, competitions, prizes to be won and more.

The Kickstarter for 'The Oliver Twins' book will be launched at this event by the twins who will be accompanied by many of those who assisted and converted their games back in the day. A free Buffet will be provided for those who attend the talk and launch, and a special gift will be given to those who pledge on the Kickstarter at the event.

Ticket price for the day is £10 per adult, £6.50 for children. There are only 125 places up for grabs and all ticket sales money goes to the museum.

You can buy the Fusion Retro Books published to date at the event and get them signed by the celebs who attend! (or you could bring your books along for signing if you already own them).
