Great thread !

Back in the early 90's i loved the Prodigy and Altern-8 and similar bands. Baby-D were superb back then as well, let me be your fantasy is a classic.

Dont like most dance music nowadays, get the occasional gem but much prefer the early dance stuff from 1991-1995

This reads like my set list when I DJ'd (1991 onwards). :D

Probably have 90% of what's been mentioned so far on vinyl.
Still have about 800-1000 12" & LP's.

My other half describes them as "old sh!t that takes up too much room"!

Frankie Knuckles
808 State

UK dance/'big beat'/rave:
Chemical Brothers

Fatboy Slim
Prodigy
Orbital
Golden Girls/pied piper
CJ Bolland

Then there is trance, gatecrasher etc towards the millenium:
Flat 6 ('Its too late' is one of my favourite tunes ever - incredibly dark and oppressive but euphoric at the same time - check it out).
Agnelli & Nelson
Brainbug
The Warrior
Delerium
Mauro Picotto
Moby
Kundalini Rising
Terra Firma
BT
Albion
Rank 1
Energy 52
Yomanda
Push
etc...

EPIC THREAD!

1990-1995 - very good era for dance music, recognising a lot of the above tunes, I worked in clubs at the time and this sort of stuff was MY LIFE.

Some very good suggestions already, some of my personal faves include -

The Shamen
Orbital
808 State
DR. Alban
Snap
Altern-8
Underworld

in fact all of thos ementioned and more, too many to list!]

Fave anthems include -

Urban Cookie Collective - The Key The Secret.
JX - Son of a gun
Altern - 8 - Activ-8 (come with me)
Oceanic - Insanity
Messiah - Temple of Dreams
A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray
Shamen - Move any Mountain
Loleatta Holloway (legend!) - Do it To Me Now
Baby D -Let me be your fantasy (kicks like a mule remix)
I could go on. For ages. No, REALLY ages.
Smart-e's - Sesame's Treet

This is MAD coincidence, I recently started putting my old early 90's dance CD's in the car, and have never had so much fun driving to work! This stuff sneds shivers down my spine...

I'm looking for the 'Lemmings' track someone did around that time, anyone have it? ('Better Move Over or I'll take Over!)
In fact, who's up for swaps in general?

Good shout with Felix ! Great tune.

Finally downloaded Prodigy - Everybody in the place, an early version of it, not the one on the album. Hearing that again all these years later brought back some great memories.
