I thought that would be your response Halcyon.
And you're right, I should have mentioned that you personally hadn't complained.

no problem Darran, the conversation just read like I was the one who wanted the comment removing.

I couldn't give a sh1t about the comment, but I am annoyed that it hasn't been pointed out that I haven't complained. If you want to remove it then that's up to you, but you are not doing it on my behalf. I've never reported anybody on this forum.
Yeah, I didn't quite see you as the type who gets easily offended, especially about a trivial comment like the one I made so not surprised it wasn't you that reported me. I think someone (or maybe its a few! :? :P ) just wants me banned from the forum so find any excuse to hit the report button. A similar thing happened a year and a half ago, where the same person/people were spamming the report to get me banned and it worked briefly till the moderators realised it was a stitch up and I was re-instated!

Anyways, enough of my indignation....i'm hardly satan!

Did you actually get reported though.

Darran said if you do it again OR get reported then he will do something.

TBH I took that as don't let him catch you again first, and then or anyone reports you second.

I never really had this forum down as one where people report each other that much.

I was hoping this forum wasn't like that, but I guess I've rubbed some people up the wrong way and they'll not hesitate in reporting me given half the chance. So yes, "complaints" were made about the post, so by the IM i received, I'm guessing at least two members reported it.

I don't wish to speculate who did it, nor do I really care and people have the right to report on posts. I would only personally report a post if someone was being deeply personal, out of order and offensive, or potentially threatening/intimidating. But this forum has never been that bad. It has got feisty at times, but nothing sinister or downright nasty, not for a long long while that I can recall at least.

Darran posted "... or I continue to receive complaints", which would indicate that somebody reported it.
It wasn't me. In truth, the reported post seems pretty mild when you consider the sarky mud we usually fling around these parts so ... go figure. Maybe it touched a nerve somewhere.

On Topic, today the news has been telling me I should have been microwaving my mushrooms all these years. It's not something I've ever considered doing. It just goes to show.
If it's slower than me, dumber than me and it tastes good ... tough titty.

Well he did say he was going to learn to drive - maybe he's working his way up to a car gradually?

Today I popped down to see my Mum, who asked me to check a box of books she'd found in the loft since she didn't know if they were mine or my Dad's. Opened it and didn't recognise the top layer but thought I'd check underneath anyway - which duly revealed his stash of 1980's porn mags
