hi thanks for the welcome
at the moment just an emu emulator, basically want to slowly build up the kit, i'd like to get another sampler ,ideally a sequential circuits prophet 2000 (they can be rare but produce lovely warm sound) and possibly one of the 90's akai samplers which I will plan to hook up with an atari. as for synths I have a long list of ones I want ,it all depends on money though as some can be expensive. I'll still always enjoy music produced on classic hardware regardless though even if I never get to afford my dream studio! :D

Hi,

I've started a blog that is kind of an insane idea but it's been fun so far. Basically I'm trying to play through as many Super Famicom games as I can, in release order. I'm skipping some games (particularly sports and gambling games). I've been playing each game for 30-60 minutes or so -- enough to get an initial impression. The blog writeups are not in-depth reviews, just biased descriptions of how I felt playing the game.

I'm playing all Japanese versions of the games (I can read Japanese so it's not a problem), although using a JP version of (say) Super Mario World makes little difference.

I only have about 10 entries up so far, but it's been a lot of fun, with a mix of nostalgic games and games I've never played before (or even heard of in some cases).

Anyway, let me know what you think:

Yeah, I thought about playing all the games, but I'll never finish this project as it is, and I just don't think sports games are all that fun unless I can play with another person. If it's an unusual game like Mario Golf or that volleyball game with the gundam/ultraman/etc characters I'll play it, but for now I'm going to keep skipping the regular sports games.

Hi everybody,

glad to be here.
Music-making is my main passion. RetroComputing/Gaming, is another passion of mine.
I just posted on the forum a couple of recent remixes I have been working for, made for a monthly italian Retrogaming podcast (Project-X and Shinobi game musics).
Check them out if you like retrogame music remixes!

Hi All,

Real name's Steve, been into the Retro scene (mostly as a coder) for several years and mostly hang out on the Acorn Stairway to hell forums (now stardot) and I'm a member of the retrosoftware team. I'm the author of "Swift", an environment to help Beeb coders as well as some other smaller utilities. I'm not the best player in town as some may already know which is why I spend most of my time watching ! I've noticed some familiar names on here, hopefully see you at the next meet up.

First console I had was a "Pong" thing, you know, tennis, squash etc. with a ball and paddles.
First computer : ZX81

Hi :) I'm Gareth I'm 29 and live in Worcestershire with my girlfriend Victoria (who is also into retro gaming). I got the Acorn Electron when I was about 6 I think then moved on to the C64 where some of my favorite games are Barbarian, Batman The Movie, Uridium, Fiendish Freddy's, Flimbo's Quest. Then moved on to the consoles starting with the NES.

I now collect anything retro game related including computers/consoles, games, old magazines, documentaries, merchandise. I get my stuff mainly from car boots, charity shops and online. I attended Byte Back in 2009. Victoria and I helped out on the merchandise table at last year's Replay and we will also be at this year's show too.

One day I want to get a record on Twin Galaxies on a retro game but first have to decide which game & start practicing

Should of joined here years ago but I'm here now.
So hopefully speak to u on here & see some of u at Replay. :D
