Mendez, we will hound you until you choose.

But pick carefully!

Well - to make it a little more simple........

Choose....

C64

or

SPECTRUM

(please think about your answer - if you say spectrum, the C64 owners/fans will have you strung up by your testicles and left for 3 days until the crows are released to start pecking at the bulging red things   )

If you say C64 then you will be showered with heavenly glory, the angels and other bright shiny winged creatures will kiss you all over and perform delightful sexual things for 3 days!

Choose man - just choose

Let me put that in a slightly less biased manner...

Choose C64 and you are going to straight to Hell (do not pass go, do not collect £200)

Choose Speccy and your loins will be blessed with mighty swimmers and the Mendez dynasty will continue for a thousand millenia.

Simple.

Come to think of it, he has probably never used any of them (much like you Sega-me-lad until he nabbed a C64 and Speccy).

Think of it as a Nintendo Vs Sega thing, where the Speccy is whichever of the two you liked best.

Or to help a little more - the Nintendo NES and Sega Mstersystem - that SirClive was refering to ar indeed a good pointer.... consider them Speccy compared to the NeoGeo like C64. The difference in quality and overall 'greatness' is really that HUGE.

On the subject of the Amstrad, you should, with immediate effect stop reading any post by Amstrad lovers  It is not only bad for your sight but also has been confirmed by scientists that ;Amstrad-itus' causes your willy to retract back into your body  :?

MPM speaks the truth.

I'm not sure how old you are (under 18 I think you said somewhere), so maybe you had an Amiga. Think of the C64 as an Amiga with all its thousands of colours, stereo sound and custom chips, and the Spectrum as an early PC with no sound, crap graphics, very limited bad colours, no joystick ports etc. :D

Afternoon everybody...
I've just realised I've been a naughty boy and posted a few things without introducing myself here.
I humbly beg your forgiveness.
I must confess I feel a bit of a fraud....I currently own a PS2 and a PC (which is five years old and has never been upgraded in any way...is that retro?) but no older systems....
BUT....my machine history reads ok I think....and I've been reading the mag since issue one...and it's my favourite read! Cover to cover every time baby.
Machine history - Acorn Electron, C64, Amiga, Megadrive, Gameboy, PC, PlayStation, PS2, newer PC.
I would still own all of these if I hadn't needed to sell them to finance the next purchase...damn my childhood lack of funds.
So, in between teaching people to drive, DJing and playing games, you'll hopefully see my mug here.
Cheers! 8)

I had emulated before I used this forum, and messed with a few old bbc's at school, so Im not entirely sega v nintendo. Bear in mind the first ever game I remember seeing played was doom 1 when my dad got his first pc

What sort of music do you play when your DJing?

I do a bit too, but I tend to play specialist/underground dance music and now I've started doing "CHEESE & TRANCE" nights!

Welcome DJcarlos..............

Now, there is an ongoing question being thrown at our new members - and you cannot hide from it!

C64, Spectrum or Amstrad?

Now, looking at the list of puters you have owned in your life, I would guess you will pick the correct one - thus allowing us to forgive you not saying hello before posting elsewhere on the forum

I'm felgekarp and I've just joined up, I've had a quick look round and you all seem like a decent bunch.

My interest in computers started years ago with my dads Dragon32 and my uncles 16k Spectrum, yes that's right 16k. Since then I've moved on to :-
Spectrum +
Spectrum +2
NES
Master System
SNES
Amiga
Playstation
Gameboy
Gameboy Advance
Atari Lynx
Saturn
Dreamcast
Xbox
and of course the obligatory PC.

Out of the list above the only 3 I don't own anymore are the Spectrum +, the Amiga and the SNES, all of which were sold on to buy other computers/consoles.

The only types of games I have little interest in are Driving, Football and RPG's mainly due to being crap at them.

Other major interests are watching Sci-fi and Martial Arts movies and reading comics, in fact I've been a comic fan since before I was a computer fan and that's where the majority of my money goes.

Anyway I look forward to conversing with you all.
Splink!
