I watched this today. I was surprised just how much it was played for laughs but I thought it was a lot of fun.

Yeah, I had heard that it had a few laughs in it but it was played rather a lot. It was funny but sometimes felt like it could have been dialled back just a notch.

Wonder (PG)
Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson
Heart-warming drama about a young boy with facial disfigurements going to school for the first time.
It was a perfect movie for my date last night.

You're no Sean Connery but I think you're doing yourself down a little with that one

Finished Stranger things 2. Decent jaunt. Started Punisher, ready for some violence and unremitting flashbacks of punishers family being killed!
Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
big bang theory, finally after years of people telling me to watch.

Or don't. We still watch, it's 20 minutes of fluff. Yes, it's become a parody of itself, but I still get a laugh from every episode. It was never high drama anyway.

I enjoy the Big Bang theory too. I think bringing in all the women during season 3 actually transforms a show, which was stagnating. Like antiriad says it's fluff, but it's enjoyable enough fluff.
I'm currently rewatching the first 8 seasons of scrubs. I love it.

SAUSAGE PARTY - hilariously offensive
DC SUPER GIRLS INTERGALACTIC GAMES - nice
MINIONS - brilliantly unoffensive and a big laugh
DESPICABLE ME 3 - quality anarchy with some really cute moments

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
Surprised to see someone here watching DC Superhero Girls. I stumbled on it for the grandkids, they love it, and I like that it's getting them away from princesses to more interesting things I can watch with them. Very much aimed at young girls this one though.
Some of the toys can be had cheap. There's a 6 inchish figure line that can be good value and the kids like that size to play with, though they're limited in the number of characters available. There's quite a few in the show I've not seen figures of yet. The larger Barbie size line has a couple more, but even that is limited.
There's a web series of short episodes if anyone wants to find out what it's like.

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?
I recently invested in a 4K Blu-Ray player, so I've been doing a bit of binge watching lately.
Over the last couple of weeks I've watched.
Trolls - Terribly bland with an amazing Justin Timberlake song
Baby Driver - Really enjoyable and certainly miles better than The World's End
Planet Earth II - Looks absolutely sensational and full of astonishing set pieces
Terminator 2 - Picked up the 3D version and you'd think it was made in the format. Still holds up brilliantly.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - still wonderful, with an amazing soundtrack
Kingsman The Secret Service - What James Bond films should be in my eyes.
Still got more to watch, including Guardians 2, T2: Trainspotting, John Wick 2 and a couple of others.
