The Canal.
I'm a horror fan but didn't really enjoy this.
It was highly predictable. My lovely GF had the plot twist sussed within 10 mins.
It had quite a bit of fetus and abortion footage in it, obviously not real footage and always in the context of dreams/visions etc but I found it really distasteful and not needed in the least.
Avoid if possible.

As DJCarlos said - the first season is very good, I'd say the second season okay, but pretty much after that it meanders along. About the fourth season onwards it does drag - after all, there are only so many times a bike gang can kill, torture and rape people!psj3809 wrote:
Still might watch Sons of Anarchy but unsure how good/bad that'll be, heard mixed reviews
Anyway, last night I started on Humans. Pretty good. Interesting premise. It would be interesting to see the original Swedish version of it - to compare them.

I started watching Peaky Blinders last night. Not convinced by some of the accents or the acting, as previously noted, but I'm kind of quite into it anyway. About half way through, only six episodes so not a huge investment if it gets worse...

Peaky Blinders has become a bit of a slang term at my work for anything in the negative. As in...

Yonderland (Sky 1). Hilariously surreal and I can't believe how much they manage to get away with....

I an up-to-date with Humans. Pretty good still. Plus, Katherine Parkinson makes a pretty good dramatic actress(I'd only sen her in things like the IT Crowd). Only a few more episodes to go.
Then watched this week's 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Really funny this week.

Doctor Who Resurrection of the Daleks.
Must have the most bizarre and incomprehensible plot of the fifth doctor. Also, the last episode is unbelievably violent.
On the plus side, janet Fielding.

Insidious 3
Loved the first two , good horror films with 'jumpy' bits here and there. But this third one was very boring

Ha, I had no idea about the programme, or the history, so didn't realise it was based on real life (no matter how loosely, if only the name even!).gman72 wrote:I cant hear that name without laughing.

Still, I quite enjoyed it, but was a bit predictable at the end. Would still watch another series though...
Finally got round to watching series 3 of Sherlock over the weekend, too. I still really enjoy it.

Watched the King of Arcades the other day. Interesting, some bloke from an unknown punk band started up his own arcade. Fair bit of footage of the retro games, fair bit of filler as well. The guy knows his stuff though, repairing bits etc. Usual appearances from Billy Mitchell and co. Good to watch but wouldnt go back to it.
Got the HBO documentary on scientology to watch next!

season finale of Wayward Pines, enjoyed it. Not sure about a season 2 though, don't see where they could take it.
