I watched the new 300 movie yesterday and found it an utter campy joy. This movie is much better than you'd expect, an enjoyable way to waste some time. Eva Green deserves a particular mention as she represented at least 50% of the fun the movie had to offer. Her character was insane, sexy and dangerous to the point that if I had a remote in the cinema I'd have fast forward the film whenever she wasn't on screen!

I love this image so much as it encapsulates the awesomeness of her character perfectly. I may even make a giant ass poster (700mmx1000mm) of it on something called
printed sheets here. Got the idea from my roommate who has a giant poster of the Joker from The Dark Knight.

Blu-Ray version of Commando (that steelbook exclusive version that Zavvi sold). Still an amazing film. I thought this was the edited version like the standard PAL DVD but you see stuff like Matrix breaking Enrique's neck and the garden fork death in the shed which I'm sure weren't in the cut version? It's been a while since I watched my NTSC Director's Cut version so I can't remember what's missing and what isn't.
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

I watched the new series' opener of Jonathon Creek. It was okay, interesting storyline. I'm surprised there is a new series, as I thought the series was only going to be made as one-off specials.

I watched the new Robocop last Monday and was left pleasantly surprised by it. I was worried it would be very watered down on a violence level due to the 12a rating but I was very surprised with what I saw. I'm amazed at what level of violence can be shown in a 12 rated film these days. I wish it was like that when I was a kid
Overall the film was very enjoyable but as others have said the ending was weak.

I watched the second episode of Jonathon Creek. Pretty good tale.
I then started on the fourth season of Babylon 5. Really good, I'm a couple of episodes in.

Caught up with The Walking Dead (had 5 episodes on Sky Box). Enjoying it a lot more now that they're out of the prison.

I'm the opposite, I'm not liking it at all

I think TV in general with it's mid series breaks/hangers? it's wrecking TV for me. I like an entire series with an arc or not .... NOT 2 mini arcs with 1 billion mini mini arcs between those

Oblivion was this week's movie. Very pretty, but overlong and quite predictable. Could easily have been trimmed by half an hour to tighten it up and been better for it. For the extra 30 minutes, they didn't really explore much about the characters.

House of cards finale, predictable if enjoyable end to the series. For those who have been watching it, where now though?

Think it depends on how many more seasons they want to make. SPOILERS- On the basis that he can now only go down, I think it could jump forward 6 or 7 years towards the end of his second term. Cue loads of flashbacks of him trying to keep his past underwraps and trying to hold onto whatever power he can. Then that journo would be due to be released too and could be the catalyst for his downfall. Then again the makers know they have a hit and might just concentrate on his campaign for a second term with another jurno investigating doug.
