Last night was Akira - haven't seen it for well over ten years, and the only bits I remembered were the giant monstrous blob at the end and that bit with the toys coming to life, so it was like watching it for the first time all over again. Fun stuff :D
My comics blog (mostly lesser-known UK stuff from the 80s and 90s)

I've watched that each week since it began and I normally really like it but have found these past few to be a bit dull in all honesty. The running 'gag' with the woman about the Pope was not funny after the second time in my opinion.
Weirdly for me this week was the first time I found "pope woman" funny when he said he was the champion of Asteroids.

Re watched Micro Men earlier, haven't seen it in a while and forgot just how good it is. Makes me want oxtail soup when I watch it though. Its warming, and nutritious.

Cobra - shallow but fun 80's Stallone nonsense which I enjoyed.

Jurassic Park - this was on TV after I'd finished with the Cobra DVD so I ended up watching this again. 20 years on and the dino SFX still look bloody good, especially the T-Rex. Great film as always.

Looper - I found it hard to follow at first but once I understood what was going on, it was quite a good movie. Not amazing but still worth the watch.

Picked up Cockneys Vs Zombies on DVD for a fiver tonight so I'm hoping it lives up to the title and cover

Skyfall. I don't really ilike Bond films, in fact have only seen 2 in my life and one of them was recent (Casino Royale) and have never seen Sean Connery as 007 but this one was okay-ish/

After all the hype and promo stuff Ive seen I really enjoyed it. Ok so the lip service does fade but ultimately they were only ever minor plot devices and gags. After seeing this , The Lorax and Madagascar 3 I really thought kids films have improved a bit lately. Then remembered that we are due for some lame ass sequels to fairly lame ass films this year (cloudy 2 , rio 2?? really?)

Crocodile - pretty cool movie even if there was nothing particularly outstanding about it. The CG croc bits look rubbish too but I didn't really expect anything different.
