Too true t-dogg - remember catching this during the early days of sky movies, had to remind myself and had a chuckle at the brilliant tagline

"You have the right to remain silent. Forever."

It's essentially a film of two halfs...

First half - a group or girls talk (poorly scripted) s**t for 40 minutes, you end up hating them all, then Kurt Russell kills them by crashing into their car.

Second half another group of slightly less annoying girls (in fact only one of them annoys me, the girl who ends up driving the white Dodge Challenger who repeatly calls everyone 'censored' and 'n word') talk (slightly better scripted but still not great) s**t for half an hour followed buy 20 minutes of driving, being chased by Kurt Russell's car then the girls extracting revenge on Kurt Russell by chasing him in their car.

And that is all that happens.

I would say it's a typical case of style over substance but even that isn't true. Tarantino starts the movie using all the 70s grindhouse tropes but all of that disappears about 20 minutes in. Also, for a movie that is 75% talking it's got some horrible dialogue. Only real highlight was Vanessa Ferlito's lapdance but I couldn't even enjoy that as her character was a total censored.

I'm sure Tarantino thought all his dialogue was empowering all his female characters but all it really did was made me root for Kurt Russell and pray he killed them all in a suitably grizzly fashion.
So, yeah... I didn't like it much.
Wierldy I liked that film, thought it was pretty original and the dialogue bit was I guess suppose to be like oh them girls moaning and talking rubbish. So I guess the empathy is not there for the viewer for them, becuase they seem shallow. The 'Crash' that was epic in my opinion.

Watched Shutter Island today, didn't see the end coming which was good although it was a flatter ending than I expected, very good film though.

funny, I'm about a third way through. Very impressed so far, but fully expecting it to disintegrate at some point.

Saw Transformers 3 last night.

It's certainly better than 2 with some nice car porn. Though it's still longer than it needs to be and as always I forget about the 3D after 10 mins.

This weeks Gintama. (wow the main characters weren't in this one)
They like to have conversations about off topic stuff
But they translated "Mega Drive" as "Genesis"

I watched the last episode of 'Rubicon' which got shown on BBC 4. A bit of an underwhelming finale. I was never that impressed by the series as a whole. It has been cancelled.

Went to see the new Transformers film last night and it was very good. Really long film but to be fair, there was always something happening and no unecessary filler in the middle. Loved the effects and battles too.
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

Was just about to ask about this, been hyped up tons. Got the first 3 episodes to watch, had a quick flick through of episode 1 and seemed to be way too much talking and not action. Was going to download from the states every week but happy to see it'll be on the FX channel this week so i'll series link that.

Hope its decent
