Watched The Expendables - have to say it's not as good as I'd hoped. Not a bad film, just didn't use the cast to its potential. Also went for something more highbrow and watched Assembly, which was a very good and moving bit of work.

Now I'm watching Bottom - very bit as funny as it was nearly 20 (!!) years ago

Granted it's not going to win any awards, but it's a reasonable enough show to be going on with.

Glad I'm not the only one to think so. Some jokes are funny, but the rest just either fall flat, or try too hard. In hind sight, Something Something... was much better. Still think Blue Harvest was, and still is, the best one.

Watched - Tron Legacy the other night on the IMAX 3D at the Odeon in Manchester I really enjoyed the visuals but thought the story could have been a lot better and had a lot of plot holes. I'm going to see again in two weeks as I promised my Dad I would take him along at some point too.

Yep, raised a few smiles, but...def. average at best, lot of the jokes just seemed to be in there to fill space(no pun intended).Wish i had waited and picked it up 2nd hand.Bought the damn thing new.

The Doctor Who Christmas special was a nice seasonal treat, while offering one of its more thoughtful episodes. I'm not ashamed to say I forced myself to hold back a tear at its conclusion.

Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief was tonight's viewing. Having heard it reviewed as a Harry Potter clone, it turned out to be better than expected. There are few real surprises, but all in all its a competent children's film that keeps the pace up and has a nice variety of creatures. Less magic and more gods, with Zeus, Poseidon etc. Decent cast too, with an amusing turn by Steve Coogan.

I pre-ordered the blu-ray/dvd combo limited set to go with the others. Don't think I'll watch it unless I decide to watch the other two.

Toy Story 3, thought it was really good and very moving. I think the Toy Story movies are the best trilogy I've seen.
