Pocket PC, PDA Question

Post by RetroReserve » Wed May 24, 2006 10:04 am

Hey,

Does anyone here know anything about Pocket PCs and PDAs?

If so could you tell me if Microsoft Outlook is the same on them as it is on a regular pc or is it a cut down version.

Thanks

Since most people on here are into retro, they've probably never heard of Outlook.

It's most deffo a cutdown version, you just need compare the size of a PDA to the size of a PC.

Seriously though, yes, it is a cutdown version as are many things on a PDA

But for (at least) Windows Mobile 2003 onwards (possibly PPC 2002 also), there's a great C64 emulator. Sadly it's commercial, but it's pretty nifty having a C64 in your pocket with a bunch of games on a flash card :D

its totally different

messages are stored in an inbox, messages from your PC are duplicated and parsed down to text and characters (and small attachmets)

the emails you send are much like text message sending, when you sync your PDA, they get sent through outlook

you can send emails directly with your normal phone connection also

Well theres tons of emulators for most systems. Morphgear emulates many console systems, PocketClive is a great Speccy emulator for PPC and theres many many more others. MegaMameCE works very well on mine, portable Bombjack and Commando at 100% speed !
