This is no reflection on you Krusty, I've ecently come to the conclusion that you aint so bad, but for f***s sake people these threads are getting really, really boring. I think we all need to have a think about how can produce more engaging threads (mainly gaming based!).

Yes this is Off Topic but lets not make it way Off Topic!

The same could be said for the 'What are you listening to now?' thread or the 'Retro Gamer Word Association!' thread.sscott wrote:WE ARE A RETRO GAMING FORUM

I'd prefer to see this sort of thing in Off Topic than the arguments etc.
However, it is really bizarre that these random topics are appearing on the forum!
If possible, I'd love it if there wasn't so much of this randomness on the forum, but everyone is entitled to post .... freedom of speech and all that!
Re: Tea or Coffee- NO thanks!
well i just say as i think, its an objective thing. this tea and coffee thread will be gone in a day or two so dont worry about it! As someone posted its good to have something different now and then.sscott wrote:This is no reflection on you Krusty, I've ecently come to the conclusion that you aint so bad, but for f***s sake people these threads are getting really, really boring. I think there are worse off topic threads out there honestly. If i post a thread in the games folder i will make it relevant to games but off topic does and can mean anything.

Some advertising campaigns are very long indeed...

Re: Tea or Coffee- NO thanks!
I think the problem is half the topics in off-topic these days are just a random thought someone decided was clever or links with no thought from the original poster about the content, so no discussion actually takes place.
I used to post some fairly lengthy stuff in OT in the past but nowadays it gets bumped by 'what colour iz best?' topics so I don't bother much any more.

Re: Tea or Coffee- NO thanks!
to be fair some gaming threads are just as one-dimensional and have no discussions in them. all threads are hit and miss and many threads in all folders can divert wildly from the original question through no fault or lack of thought from the original poster.Sureshot wrote:I think the problem is half the topics in off-topic these days are just a random thought someone decided was clever or links with no thought from the original poster about the content, so no discussion actually takes place.

I do post on other forums where you rarely get baseless topics being made and good discussion ensues in the ones that are made due to some actual thought-provoking content being put forward to start off with. So it's really not impossible.

Re: Tea or Coffee- NO thanks!
i mostly use off topic to talk about what is going on in my life outside of the games room! although i do enjoy some of the way off topics...i feel that some people are just on a mission to get into the top 5 posters list so that they can give themselves a big pat on the back!
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

Re: Tea or Coffee- NO thanks!
I do sort of understand where the idea for the thread came from.
Quite a few times in work ive been offerred tea or coffee and when you say No thanks im fine or I dont drink it that much, there is an audible gasp as if you have just asked a cashier for a carrier bag.
Some people say they cant start the day without a cuppa...i find it weird that a whole day revolves around whether someone has had their cup of tea/coffee. It is a kind of american joke where apparently we drink tea all day the same as we assume all americans are fat loud mouths.
Now people that rely on caffeine stimulant drinks annoy me...they come in where i work and gulp it down as if some magic will suddenly spruce their attention span..
Things that make me chuckle ....fat people drinking lucozade..what do they need energy for ???
