Help me find a new alcoholic drink!

Post by TheDude18 » Mon Jan 26, 2009 3:31 am

After reading the Real Ale/Lager thread, it's obvious that you are the people to ask when it comes to booze. The drinks I used to like are turning on me and I cant find a suitable replacement. My drink of choice for a good session was Strongbow but my heartburn has put paid to that. The same for my short of choice, vodka(*2) and lime. My lager of choice is becks but for some reason in the last year or so this turns on me after about 5 bottles.

I dont like wine, I do like the Newcastle Brown but it's no good for a session as it's heavy on the stomach, I dont mind Guiness but (sacrelage!) with a touch of black or with Strongbow. Cant stand Whiskey.

Any recommendations?

Try the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster!! :wink:

Recipe

1. Take the juice from one bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit.
2. Pour into it one measure of water from the seas of Santraginus V.
3. Allow three cubes of Arcturan Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzene is lost).
4. Allow four litres of Fallian marsh gas to bubble through it.
5. Over the back of a silver spoon float a measure of Qalactin Hypermint extract.
6. Drop in the tooth of an Algolian Suntiger.
7. Sprinkle Zamphuor.
8. Add an olive.
9. Drink . . . but . . . very carefully . . .

Or if you are stranded to Earth, the next best ingredients are as follows

* ½ ounce Vodka
* ½ ounce Triple Sec
* ½ ounce Yukon Jack liqueur
* ½ ounce peach schnapps
* ½ ounce Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey
* ½ ounce lime juice
* 1 olive

Pour ingredients into a shaker 2/3 of ice. Shake well. Strain into a stem-less cocktail glass. Top with one large ice cube and add the olive.

Double Southern Comfort and Ginger Ale with a dash of Lime Cordial.

It's called a Gatsby and tastes like Sherbet.

Luvely.! No hangover and puts lead in your pencil....

Ouzo and cream soda, the cream soda totaly takes the taste of ouzo away so its like "supping" pop, I once had 2 pints (a third ouzo the rest creamsoda) and was paraletic.....good times....lol

Or turbo shady - half larger of your choice and hald smirnoff ice, red label.

Cheeky Vimto - a third port (based on a pint glass) and then the rest topped up with blue WKD, you have to expiriment with that one to get the vimto taste, its a bit hit and miss....

Or just stick with Jagermister over ice (or redbull) quality evening on that stuff

How about a good old fashioned gin and tonic. I prefer Bombay Sapphire but Gordon's is quite nice. Mojito is good as well:-

soda water, white rum, sugar, lime, mint.

Gimlet is nice as well:-

* 1/4 Lime Juice
* 3/4 Dry Gin
* Shake well and strain into medium size glass; fill up with soda water

Lynchburg Lemonade:-

Triple Sec
Angostura Bitters
Lemon and lime juice
Slice of Lemon (or lime)
Cherry (optional)
and of course...Jack Daniels!

Pour over loads of ice

Very refreshing...very deadly...I seem to remember... :?

Lol, well depends what you like, the pear Bulmers is quite nice but a bit expensive at pubs. What 'bout lagers?

Remember Frankie Boyle talking about someone ordering a lager and lime in Scotland, and the bar man replying "sorry we dont do cocktails" :P

Talking of putting lead in your pencil who remembers a drink from the 80’s called Bezique? This was before the days of Viagra and it was the next best thing. It’s probably why it was discontinued.
