Anyone tried mud city stout? Picked one up in home bargains for 99p and wasn't expecting much but turned out to be really smooth. And 6.6% aint bad for a stout either.

Sadlers are a really good brewery. Mud City Stout is a really good beer.

So yes, I've tried it and love it and will be popping to home bargains to buy lots of it :D :D

I've had the chocolate porter a few times before. Lovely stuff. Recommended if you enjoyed the Old Tom chocolate ale... Marko

Sounds ace! Will have to put a posh frock on and pop into Waitrose

Something special! I'm sitting here with a Guinness West Indies Porter 6% (From Makro). Really nice!!! Yes, that's right - Guinness have made a beer that tastes like something

I need another one - good job I got a case of 8.

Also, on my bar at work I've just put on La Tene from Celt Experience Brewery. 3.3% Dry hopped ale. You would never believe this was 3.3% - it is amazing. Absolutely packed with flavour and smells awesom.

I saw them in our order books at work. Think they have released 2 new brews if I remember rightly. Might have to get them in!

I tried the Sparkling Ale from Australia last night. Not great, tasted dirty.

I'm off to The Taphouse in Wimborne tonight. Its a cask ale bar with loads to choose from apparently.

If I feel really rebellious, it's Carlsberg Special Brew for me   . But Stella Artois doesn't really deserve it's bad reputation. I've had it a few times before and I have NEVER turned surly, aggressive or violent either.

Taphouse turned out to be a bit crap. Only had about 4 cask ales. For somewhere that was promoting themselves as an great Ale establishment it was a little underwhelming.

I asked for a porter or a stout and the lady behind the bar said they didnt do any as its more a winter thing. A guy sat at the bar laughed and said have a Guiness mate....

I was then recommended Doom Bar by the lady

  The Tap House started off really well and East Dorset CAMRA loved the place. Then they realised that the CAMRA guys n girls weren't going to be there every day so started doing less ales.
They would have 4 ales on but actually look like they had more. I've spoken to many CAMRA members that have been there and the general opinion is it is average at best.
Shame - started so well.

Sad to say the spoons opposite is far better for variety. Also atmosphere wasn't great. Felt like I'd walked into the pub out of American Werewolf in London

It's "Green Hop" time! I tried Wantsum's Green Hop Ale at 4.5% ABV.
