Real Ale Drinkers or Lagerboys?

First night of my beer fest is done. Busy night and loads of beer shifted

My fave ales so far:

Burton Bridge 'Thomas Sykes' 10% - oh wow! It is more like a barley wine - awesome...
Waen Brewery 'Snowball' 7% - Coconut and Chocolate Porter! BLACK ale with a hint of coconut.
Loch Ness 'Dark Ness' 4.5% - another porter, tastes perfect!
Liverpool Organic 'Kitty Wilkinson' 4.5% - A vanilla stout. Smooth with a strong vanilla taste.

And just to make things more awkward, I like the rest of the ales too

Got it in Tesco on the 4 for £6 offer!! I had to buy the last 8 bottles though

Havn't managed to find the I&G Winter Porter that is usually out this time of year. Their 'Toasted Oak' is also lovely and worth a go. Wish the Irish Whiskey was still about too as that was lovely

Ah, but if you are talking Mild as in M&B mild type stuff from a keg... then yes, horrid stuff! BUT if you manage to find a proper mild from cask, then there are some bloody fantastic ones out there.

Shepherd & Neame 'Christmas Ale' 7%

States on the bottle that it is a glowing Amber ale... when in fact it is a pale golden ale. I honestly thought that they had just stuck a lable on a bog standard 3.8% ale just to shift some of their rubbish, but I can now confirm after a few bottles that it is deceivingly 7% It has taken a while to type this as there are so many mistakes!

Taste wise - yes, it is Christmasy. Is it nice?

Yes.

Yes.

Im not a fan of anything Shepherd Neame but Christmas Ale is probably the best brew I've tasted by them. Better than the Late Red i received with this set. Lovely sets and Black Sheep always goes down a treat





The other bottles are Christmas Ale & Black Sheep Golden Sheep.

the Lass used to sell something called "North Star porter".

As a fan of Hokuto no Ken I couldnt resist and the taste was worth it.
