I use them so will ask... green hopped ales are popular but not green in colour, so I'm interested to find out what this actually was! Green coloured ale would look, well, wrong!

It is wrong! So wrong!markopoloman wrote:I use them so will ask... green hopped ales are popular but not green in colour, so I'm interested to find out what this actually was! Green coloured ale would look, well, wrong!
Tasted ok though. Just don't worry about the colour of your morning constitutional

I used to like their Pig Swill beer, but I don't go to Wiltshire so much these days

Suppose you were an idiot; suppose also that you were an XBox One owner. But I repeat myself.

Okay, thank you for the reply. I looked it up - I'm not sure if that is the one - although it's indeed the right colour! I still know the barmaid who used to work at the pub it was served in, so I'll ask her and see if she remembers.Prof Mango B Coconut wrote:Stonehenge Ales of Salisbury do a green beer called "hint of spring" or something like that.
It is indeed quite weird having it coloured green. Probably the reason why I didn't try it!

Never noticed this topic before.
Used to like Rolling Rock when I first started drinking, now, as you have mentioned, pretty tasteless.

Made my annual pilgrimage to the next town over for the Ayrshire Real Ale Festival yesterday. Just a fleeting visit - only the four pints. I remember Caringorm's Trade Winds (good stuff), Harvieston's Schiehallon (excellent), the Iron Maiden beer (bought for the novelty: absolute mince) and another one that tasted of banana and honey. I tasted about a dozen more but have misplaced my notes. Ah well.

Re: Real Ale Drinkers or Lagerboys?
It was the presentation night for my club last night. So we are now the official holders of 'Wessex & Channel Islands CAMRA Regional Club of the Year 2013/14'
Had an awesome night - I get very drunk (anyone that read my Birthday thread will see the results
).
We took more money over the bar than we did last New Years Eve!
Oh, and I was drunk due to drinking:
5 pints of this
2 pints of
1 pint of
and 2 1/2 pints of Yeovil YPA (7.3%)
(No images of the pump clip)
Also a few double Taliskers.
I didn't feel well today
I am going to scan the award and post it in this thread though - worked my nuts off to get it

Well done on the award, I'm sure there was quite a bit of competition for it.

Went to Wimborne Ale fest yesterday. Tried loads of lovely porters there as I'm enjoying my darker beers now that its getting a little colder. Cant remember the breweries names but i remember some of the names
Harry Porter 4.8%
Wild Raven 6.6%
Four Kings 7.2% and very tasty
I'll have to find y leaflet I got at the event. Tried a load of cider too as my bro was on that. Went out afterwards and had a few drinks in town. Unfortunately I went and had a Tangle Foot afterwards and it tasted like dirt & urine.... All those lovely ales ruined the taste of something I usually enjoy.
Congrats to Markopoloman. I will come down and have a few drinks at some point

I tried another beer from the Wantsum Brewery - Miller's Mirth. A pale ale with a smooth malty flavour.

King Goblin ---- deffo not a new ale from them! Was drinking bottles of that last Christmas. But it is a lovely beer though. 6.6% - check, dark - check, tastes great - check. 3 things I like in a beer
