Quite pleased as the good stuff that Prinny normally finds at B&M's is never in the one near me. They'd put these next to WKD cans though?!? Guess it pays to check out the whole alcohol section! Saying that, what WTF is going on with canned WKD! Bleugh.

i'm drinking some guinness golden ale, it's not very good.... bit disappointing because their foreign extra stout was a nice addition to their range which I only recently discovered.

Guinness foreign extra stout IS GREAT! as is the West Indies Porter. But the Dublin Porter, Golden Ale and standard Guinness are just pap.

I'm enjoying another bottle of Fullers Imperial Russian Stout 10.7%... If you get a chance, get some as it is one of my top ales of all time :D

awesome I will keep a look out for that imperial stout, I have only tried one previously a long time ago now. but I like a lot of the speciality ales by fullers, golden pride and the boxed vintage years. these have been some of the best ones i've had. :)

On the beer front I would recomend Guinness from the only other country currently allowed to brew it.

Nigerian Guinness. Strong and quite nice, stronger than foreign extra. Get it from your Tesco before the stupid consolodation removes it!

It other drinking news, I have become a fan of port and brandy, does this mean I am old?

Don't know about the port(although my Dad likes that) - but occasionally I do like a brandy.

I tried some Goose 312 Wheat Beer. Doesn't look as cloudy as traditional wheat beers(think Hoegaarden or Kronenbourg Blanc). Has a fruity zesty taste to it, but seems quite different to other wheat beers that I have tried - closer to ale and lager in my opinion. Pretty decent.

No idea whether they are doing this nationally but:

My local Co-Op store (in S Wales) now has an excellent range of bottled regional ales from different "local" Welsh breweries (Purple Moose, Montys, Great Orme, Castles, Tiny Rebel) all on 2 for £3.50. Note that they are in the regional food section rather than with the rest of their regular beer stock.

Forgive me for (possibly) sounding thick but what does this mean? Always wanted to try the Nigerian Guinness but haven't seen it around for literally years. Will have to check the nearest Tesco but despite there being a reasonably big ale/stout section, it's mostly all common-as-muck stuff. Usually end up buying nothing as I can't be arsed!
