Went to Manchester the weekend, got bored of all the flavoured ciders so thought id try something new.
I loved it, it was called Desperado and was beer with Tequila in...it came with a wedge of lime in the bottle...I cant remember what happened after the 3rd one. Something like 7%, slow motion head and a lot merry and that is NEVER the case with me.

Tonights ale from work is Celt Experience 'Bleddyn 1075' 5.6% - an amazing IPA bursting with tropical fruit flavours! I recon the only thing the Welsh do properly is brew beer

Oi! They craft a darn fine whiskey, y'know - Penderyn. Maybe it's just too strong for those in short trousers....markopoloman wrote:Tonights ale from work is Celt Experience 'Bleddyn 1075' 5.6% - an amazing IPA bursting with tropical fruit flavours! Having said that, am off to Belgium next month and will, despite my hatred of anything commonly found in a 'pint glass', just have to try some hard-to-find Belgian beer. Am thinking a Chimay, one of the lambics and/or a Kwak. Better still would be a double-shot of The Belgian Owl, a single malt with a record-breaking alcohol content (for whiskey) of 76.5%! Gotta sip it neat, and take a few days over it!

Here's an odd one. I'm drinking Sharp's Cornish Pilsner! 5.2% bottle conditioned and actually jolly nice too. This is what craft lager should taste like

Brass Castle is fairly local to me & I was talking to their chief brewer only a couple of weeks ago.markopoloman wrote:Oh, and tonight I have some ale from work... Brass Castle 'Sunshine' 5.7%. THIS ALE IS AWESOME! Really hoppy with a strong grapefruity taste and smell. If you ever get the chance - get some
Of their ales I would definitly recommend Bad Kitty which is a superb porter/stout bursting with flavour

If you liked that, try their Burnout. 5.8% and black as a black cat that has fallen in a tin of black paint. If you go back in there - tell him that his beer has been on in Poole and is bloody awesome!goldenone wrote:Brass Castle is fairly local to me & I was talking to their chief brewer only a couple of weeks ago.markopoloman wrote:Oh, and tonight I have some ale from work... Ive just got in from a 16 hour shift setting up my 5th beer festival! Had to get a sneeky try of the 10.5% Ogham Ash (a Russian Imperial Porter) from Celt Experience. AWESOME

We are now down to our last 12 bottles at home after getting 48 bottles direct from the Monks in Feb 2013. Brugge beer festival booked for Feb 2015 & another visit to the Monastery is definitely in order.

Good brewery! Trooper is their popular ale of the moment - Iron Maiden themed. IF you get a chance though, ask nicely for some Old Tom (8.5%) - it is really really good stuffflatapex wrote:robinson's in stockportmarkopoloman wrote:What brewery you going too?flatapex wrote:well this weekend i am heading off on my stag do, and we are doing a tour of a real ale brewery![]()
