Metal Gear Solid - £2
Boxed copies of Games Workshop Space Crusade and Manowar plus three unopend Manowar blister packs.
Not bad considering the weather was so bad and i was running between the stalls between showers.

I went to car boot the other day, I always seem to get to the bargains about 30 seconds too late. I saw a woman buying a load of PS1 games from some kid, pretty much all the valuable PS1 games I know of were there. The kid had some final fantasy games, the x-com games, diablo and more. I couldn't believe it.
The woman cherry picked expertly and took all the best ones, she even had the nerve to barter him down from £2 each to £1.50 each. that was a bit shabby I thought.
Never sure what the etiquette is for carboot, is it accepted to leap in with an offer knowing a bidding war may erupt and nobody ends up with a bargain?
Like the person earlier in the thread, I was seething and moody about the missed oppurtunity all day!

Just dive in there m8.
Ive outbid dealers loads of times just to pissem off.
They hate it....
Dont be afraid too.
They are only gonna sell em for a profit....
I tend to keep what i buy myself...
Only really trade cos i dont do it for profit ,only for the enjoyment.#
Mind you....i still like a bargain.

The only thing I bought today was NHL 97 complete for the Megadrive for 20 whole pence. It was the only MD game in the whole 'All items 20p' box.
I couldn't leave it.
I turned down one of those generic c64-looking 101-in-1 things that was also boxed complete. It appeared to take CDs and be loosely based on the PS1 shape. It came with 2 controllers. I should have bought it for £1, I'm now thinking.
Thoughts and prayers.

I need some carboot goodness in my life, I don't think I've even been to one before. I'll have to check out when and where people hold them and see if I can pick up some bargains.
NHL 97 is a superb game I have to say, well worth that price.

I know EXACTLY what you mean SirClive.
Anyways, there be TWO car booters on tomorrow, so am well excited.
They'll probably turn out to be pants, but I'm always optimistic!!
First one starts at 7am and the other, literally just across town at 8.30.
Pray for me guys.

you have to stick at it!
every boot sale is becoming the same these days...same old traders selling things at prices they have seen on ebay...but now and again you get the odd person who is just trying to get rid of stuff they no longer want....thats when you get a bargain
i find church table sales and school jumble sales are good for a bargain hunt as people at those events are just trying to raise cash for a cause rather than their own selves
i hav'nt been to a booty for a ew weeks now as i'm enjoying my sunday lie in too much!
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

Try charity shops as well.
They always seem to have a box tucked away with a few games etc...
Also put a card in the local newsagents window (only costs 50p or so)asking for old games....its worked a few times for me.

A mate of mine reckoned he once found a 48K Spectrum inside an old mental hospital building that had lain abandoned and disused for several years.

Freecycle FTW!
My haul so far:
3 Amiga A4000Ts (!)
1 Amiga A500
1 iMAC G4 (pick up on Thursday)
1 N64 + 12 games
3 mountainbikes
20 odd PS2 games
1 P233 laptop
3 boxes of Amiga magazines
I've donated:
Huge pile of motorcycle mags
Huge pile of digital video mags
1 hamster cage (new)
2 VHS recorders
1 DVD player
2 hifis
2 large TVs
1 portable tv
Not a bad rate of exchange!
Thoughts and prayers.
