I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying that these come with a 110v psu because their from America. I was looking for one a while back and found a company in the states selling them in this state (kit form).

yep, I do remember the soft centre!

and yep, they're american, BUT the only american thing about them is the 110V PSU :-)

Yes, you can build an entire micro mostly from scratch but it's the step down convertor that's going to confuse you ;)

theres no need for a step down converter,
ANY 9v DC power supply will work!, i'll bet you've a few lying round your house right now

Small world, I live in Cwmbran as well!

I used to love SoftCentre, thats where I used to get all my GameBoy and Supervision games... was devastated when it closed.

More specifically, I lived in Pontnewydd, in the village, for about 20 years. My family have now moved to Pontypool, while I'm working and living in Bucks.
