Who are your favourite band/ artists?

Post by bonerlaw » Mon Jul 14, 2008 4:03 pm

A lot of music inspired topics, so i thought id ask:

Who are your favourite bands/artists/musicians etc of all time, or just even at the moment!

For me, my favourite artist of all time is that little sex midget Prince.....less so nowadays, but if i heard one of his tunes ill sing and dance along!

My favourite band is a toss up between Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age....but i think NIN just gets the nod! Surely for their variety and ever changing sounds!

And, my favourite composer of all time is either Modest Mussorgsky or Elgar

MODS: apologies if this has already been done before!

In my younger days it was The Smiths, The Stone Roses, The Wonder Stuff, The Cure, Blur, Happy Mondays, New Order

Nowadays it is Ian Brown's solo stuff.

I have quite a few favourites:

Journey
Brian Wilson
Frank Zappa
Boston
Beach Boys
Joe Satriani
Sigue Sigue Sputnik
It Bites
Francis Dunnery
Dennis Wilson
Tomoyasu Hotei
Stratovarius
Eddie Cochran
Roy Orbison
Strauss, J II
Prokofiev, S
Tchaikovsky, P

These are artists that I enjoy (practically) everything they have created. Artists who have created a fair few pieces that I don't think much of, but still enjoying the majority of their works, are far too numerous to mention, so I won't. :D

Oasis for me 100%

Love their albums and b sides, enjoying listening to the odd leak from the new album.

Technically NIN isn't a band, it's just Trent Reznor, but I digress... ;)

My favourite band has probably changed a lot over the years but at various points it has been Guns N Roses, Metallica (up to the black album), Slayer, Carcass, In Flames and Soilwork.

But one band I have loved since I first heard them and that continues to put out quality music is The Wildhearts. If you're a fan of rock/metal music and have never heard this band, I demand that you check out some of their back catalogue NOW! :D

Good to know I'm not the only one!

I'm a huge Oasis fan. Love every single song, including b-sides too. I also have several bootleg albums and DVDs. I'm anxiously waiting for the new album, coming out in 82 days!
