The Witcher Season 2. After 3 episodes in very, very little has happened. Finishing Dopesick on Disney+ with Michael Keaton, really good.

Saw Raccoon City with SScott last night, the seats in the cinema we go to are nice, the popcorn was a bit of a let down though and I don't have to pay to get in, so all in all, terrible film!
This one is on my radar. Is it better than House of the Dead 2, which was crap but enjoyable in a B-movie way.

Seeing Hannah John-Kamen in the cast, she tends to be in low budget stuff I enjoy, but it's obviously not going to be anywhere near as good as the old RE movies.
I haven't seen any of the HOD movies, I've only seen the first RE film as well so I haven't got much to compare it to but I wouldn't have said this was B-Movie enjoyable.

Rewatching a load of Hong Kong movies recently, highlights include A Better Tomorrow, Election 1 & 2, Throwdown, and Hardboiled.
Hard Boiled is such a damn good film. Saw Raccoon City with SScott last night, the seats in the cinema we go to are nice, the popcorn was a bit of a let down though and I don't have to pay to get in, so all in all, terrible film!

Willy's Wonderland:

Best described as a cross between 5 nights at Freddy's and Nick Cage just being himself, no real explination on who his character is or why he does what he does and had a similar feel to stuff like Hobo with a Shotgun.

Fatman:

Bizarre Christmas movie, Mel Gibson seems to be trying to mimic Kurt Russell's voice while playing a very grizzled Santa who's forced into a contract with the US goverment all while being stalked by a Hitman with a crazed obcession in collecting peoples favourite christmas gifts, keeps going on about being a Fatman while only having a mild middle age spread if that.

Chronicle (2012). Never seen it before. Interesting take on some teenagers finding out they have super powers. Recommended if you've never seen it.

The films I've enjoyed most recently (all watched for the first time and mostly on Now/Sky):

It's a Wonderful Life (equally uplifting and depressing - a great film)
Wonder Woman 1984 (loads of problems but that didn't stop me enjoying it)
Promising Young Woman (Carey Mulligan is excellent in this revenge thriller)
Gunpowder Milkshake (had loads more promise but after a serious-seeming opening, 2 or 3 scenes had me in stitches - one Jackie Chan-esque)
The Colour Room (feelgood biopic about Clarice Cliff revolutionising the workplace at a Stoke-on-Trent pottery factory in the 1920s)
Knives Out (Daniel Craig is fun in this)
Land of Mine (Danish film based on a true post-WWII story about a group of German teen POWs forced to clear beaches of thousands of land mines)
Tokyo Story (the Japanese classic about families affected by the children moving to Tokyo - very sad)
(all 8/10)

Archive (slow-burning sci-fi) 7/10

Watched 8-Bit Christmas after seeing ad after ad pop up on the Sky Box.
I watched that too. I thought it started promisingly but was a bit boring overall. I expected a much bigger quest and it failed on the charm side of a lot of Christmas films with similar aged protagonists. 6/10

The new episodes of Worzel Gummidge over Christmas were brilliant, and I caught up on the Guy Forks episode (with Toby Jones and Paul Kaye) which was really good too.

Squid Game, excellent, lived up to the hype. One of the best TV shows in recent years.

Bad Boys For Life. Disappointingly meh. Ok I suppose as a generic action film but not funny at all, surprisingly so given the leads.

Witcher Season 2. Good watch, hopefully the show can continue to maintain the current standard and knows when to end itself before pulling a game of thrones.

Monk Comes Down A Mountain. Good action but slightly disappointing story and characters. Not bad but nothing memorable.

Cobra Kai S4. Brilliant as ever.

Ghostbusters afterlife. Not bad, better then the second one and the reboot.

Matrix. It's alright. Better then the third one, worse than the first and second ones.

Minnal Murali.
Some Indian super hero flick, was enjoyable.
Quite how it has better CG than most Marvel films is a bit strange

The Ys OVAs.
90s/00s Anime based on the games that turns out to be rather good. Also it has a good dub? Bloody hell

Witcher seasons 1 and 2. The seasons have their ups and downs but overall a really good watch.

21 Bridges. Not very original but still a compelling watch.

Beckett. Quite a modest but decent thriller that reminded me a little of the original Bourne Identity TV series and Hitchcocky things like 39 Steps.

Licorice Pizza. Not one of my favourite Paul Thomas Anderson films but had some good moments.

Scream (new one) at cinema. Not bad at all. Glad it's still reasonably gory. Won't spoil anything here.
