Beavis and Butt-head

Post by thl » Wed Apr 23, 2008 6:15 pm

When it was first screened on MTV in 1993, it was unlike any other animations. The direction had changed as the creators decided to break the boundary with their unusual ideas.

Having those two teenagers who are into heavy metal music, watching TV, failing exams, and doing crazy weird stuff, it became the turning point of the show. Also on each episodes, it had the format were they discussed about music videos with their own funny comments.

Because of how the characters was portrayed (thanks to their offensive behaviour), it went on to earned that cult status, which can be very hilarious and entertaining. Also what cracked me up about the show was the facial appearances of those two characters, especially Beavis. Can't believed how much I laughed.

There's one episode where they go camping in the woods with Van Driessen and he gets mauled by a bear and they just stand there laughing at him, I was killing myself laughing at that. I love the opening credits to the film as well, done in a sort of Shaft style, quality.

One of the best shows ever. Unusual that it is still funny today, as you see many old TV shows that aren't funny anymore.

There was one episode where the Head said he was sick of their continual giggling and sniggering, so they weren't allowed to laugh for a full day. The next lesson was sex education with Mr Buzzcut the army PE teacher.

Mike Judge rocks!

I quite like the 'Meet God' episode....

Butt-Head: 'If you're really God, then who built the Ark?'

Cult Leader: 'Noah'

Butt-Head: 'Whoah, he really is God!'

'Couch Fishing' and 'Cow Tipping' stick in my mind for some reason too.

the one where they find mr anderson's credit card and go nuts, i nearly cried with laughter when they come out of the pet shop and two dogs are humping beavis's legs in time to his walk

and when they "Prune" the power lines
"were going to have to charge you extra, we pruned you're house too"

The one where they take Anderson's dog for a wash is great.

"She's been rolling around in her own sick"

Has anyone else got the album, "Beavis & Butt-Head, The Experience"?

Surprisingly good actually, the otherwise unreleased Nirvana track is very very good, among other gems. There are sketches in between the tunes, one featuring Run DMC and another with Anthrax.

There was an episode where they're doing their own impersonation of Benjamin Franklin and having to been struck by the lightning.
