Remember this first time around... one hit wonders, but a good one at that...

nokgod wrote:My pleasure, B. Now lets get this thread back on track. I 've just had to pick my missus up from a party and in the car i had:

Thompson Twins- Sister of Mercy
Tears For Fears- Everybody wants to rule the world
Kate Bush-Wuthering Heights
Duran Duran- New moon on Monday
Howard Jones- New Song

:D :D :D :D
Quality stuff... Not my favourite Thompson track but still a good one. NMOM is a really underrated DD track, as my favourites from the 80's I particularly like it... New Song is a classic, prefer What Is Love, but you can't knock Howard... even if I used to confuse him and Nick Kershaw for some reason at the time..

Kate Bush went to my school...

Yeah, I met Howard a couple of years ago....very unassuming guy, liked him a lot.

I think Kate Bush has the most amazing voice. Bit of trivia for you, her vocal range is 3 octaves, that's more than almost anyone else on the planet....

Songs i forgot:

Laura Brannigan- Self Control
Gary Numan- Cars
Men at Work- Down Under

More good tracks... also like Tubeway Army - Are Friends Electric which is Gary Numan, and I again associate for no reason whatsoever, Men Without Hats - Safety Dance with Down Under.. prob as they both have the word Men in the title and were out at around the same time...

Dunno how a black Disco is gonna sub for a white Testarossa though... :)

Im sure we can manage. Just put some extras on, like they did with a Corvette to turn it into a Daytona, and viola!
But I cant afford to get those clothes now (I've only enough saved for next weekend), so I've got a red sunset shirt with a silouette of a beach and palm trees and some very light blue jeans that will have to make an appearence!
Is there any cd's you want me to bring next week?

It'll prob end up looking more like the A-Team van! :)

That shirt is hurting my eyes already! :) It sounds like the "High Score" screen background on Outrun...

Bring any you would like, I do have an 80's playlist on my MP3 player which I use in the car with about 800 ttracks in it, which should be enough for the trip.. :) but any CD's would be most acceptable... or tapes, as it has a tape player too, so some classic old c90 compilations or early NOW albums would be a bonus... or we could just get some old Speccy/C64 tapes and listen to the loading squelch noises all the way home...

Some of my faves...

Forever Young by Alphaville - Love it
Obsession by Animotion - Mentioned above, brilliant song and totally takes me back to my months playing GTA !
Ran by Flock of Seagulls - Must admit another song i love because of GTA

and...

Duel by Propaganda

Never had heard of this song previously, being a big fan of american footy this was the music on a long montage clip at the end of the Superbowl in 87. Was superb for the clip they used, good song.
